buckee
Maybe the coyotes will push some deer around in a circle and back his way. I've had bears do that here.

GWSmith
With a 3 hr drive to the airport I geuss Tim had some time to reflect on his hunt. He called and we talked for awhile. He wanted to let everyone know He "Did everything I could but it just did'nt happen". Someone asked him if doing these live hunts adds any pressure and he replied "It does a little but it's more that I want to share the good news with the forums and theres been no deer taken...I know thats Hunting but I'm human just like everyone else..it gets frustrating sometimes". He said this last place he hunted was the best of the last 3 hunts with plenty of great encounters it's just the weather was not the best. He also said when they would go into a set they would check the trail cameras and the big bucks had been there, during the daytime, just the day or two before! He enjoyed playing the cat and mouse game with them but wished the end result could be different. He shared this with me and said this put everything in perspective for him just before we lost our cell connection: "I was talking with my Mom and telling her how down in the dumps I've been about having these hunts that I dont take a nice deer on and... She said: "Is your daughter healthy? Tim replied: "Yes" She said: "Is she happy and safe"? Tim replied: "Yes" Then She said: "Then everything else will take care of itself...you have what really matters".
The_Kat
Got a call from Tim as well. He got just a taste of what most of us Kansas, Oklahoma, North texas folks have been dealing with all season. Warm temps, winds outta the south???, swirling winds, and unpredictable movement patterns. He did seem good spirited though and was hauling butt to the airport. Safe travels Tim....look forward to finishing out conversation!
wtnhunt
I did not have a live hunt, but my 6 day hunt with Randy I guess I can kind of relate to Tim's hunts a little better now. Sometimes you can do everything right and it still not happen, part of hunting. Hope you have a good trip home Tim.
ruttinbuc
Too bad it didn't work out for you, Tim. It certainly was not from lack if effort. We know it takes a lot to kill a big buck in that limited time frame with all the variables. You can attest that you never know what you are going to run into once you are there. Sometimes you get lucky and hit it just right. Others times it can be very frustrating. By time you figure it out and weather turns right it is time to come home. I always felt blessed that I had the opportunity to just go and see some of these bucks we all, read, hear and dream about. However, there was always that empty void on the ride home. Maybe the next time...
buckee
Sorry to hear Tim didn't score. He's still doing a lot better than ewe are up here. At least he is seeing deer. Ours got abducted by aliens I think. :clown: And Tim, your Mom has a very, very good point buddy. I can't wait for the rut to kick into high gear here. It's just been way too boring. GWSmith
I agree SteveB... Tim thinks he's let us down in some way. I told him I thought that he's elevated us by taking us with him on these hunts. He's showing us that he's just like the rest of us and has hard times hunting just like we do! He's not going on "Canned Hunts" and I for one, at the very least I'm sure, consider his desire to take a true trophy buck and the commitment he's shown to make that happen be an example to us all. NBomb500
I agree with you SteveB and GWSmith. Tim has a lot of passion for what he does. I can see that without even knowing him. He has not let anyone down. It has been awesome being able to hear about his hunts day by day. As Smith said, "he's elevated us by taking us with him on these hunts." It is just a matter of time until he gets a big one. It's been a lot of fun for me as well since I am not in my home state and can't hunt here, which is killer for me, so I love hearing about everyone's hunts and stories.
