Doe-ee
If you're doing what your job requires you to do and he doesn't like it....go to your supervisor and have him/her deal with him. That's their job.

LOL what do you guys think i should do? Ok, I don't know how old you are or what your title is at Cabelas but I do know this, he is in the wrong. If you are his supervisor, write him up. If you are not his supervisor, then go to his supervisor and file a complaint. Be sure of one thing, if you let this slide, he WILL do it again. You need to be a man and step up to the plate and do what is required of you.

That's their job. I agree with my honey here. She is a supervisor at the Canadian Superstore and deals with this stuff all the time, so she knows what she's talking about. You have a supervisor and he has a supervisor. Go to your supervisor, not his. It is up to your supervisor to talk to his about his conduct. wildlife242
Yes me being a man might be difficult without some major surgery!!LOL:clown: But yeah thats what i thought i am the switchboard operator and i was just doing my job. But now it is all over the store and i just hate gossip crap and i just didn't know what to do. i am 21 and i have been working retail sense i was 16 and i still had no idea what to do. if it had not been for another outfitter coming in and taking control i would have quit my job yesterday. I don't want to be a nark and have everyone hate me that is why i am struggling with talking to a supervisor. but i know i might just bit the bullet and do it anyways.:bummed:

ryan1990
Personally I wouldnt go to a superviser. Just tell him you are doing your job so if he would do his too it would make things alot easier. Obviously he is in the wrong but I think goin and tryin to get him in trouble is just gonna make things worse. Just talk to him face to face and tell him to back off. You are working with people here, and people are idiots, gotta stand your ground.

wildlife242
It's all good it happens!! Not if you confront him now and let him now you wont be pushed around. You know the situation better than any of us do, so use your better judgement but personally I wouldnt want to be looked at as the person who cant fight their own battles. Newarcher
There is really only one thing I would have done..... When he walked out of the office after yelling at me, I would immediately have paged him PERSONALLY! Go to the manager and let him/her deal with it. No sense getting into a personal fight with someone. New
The_Kat
I had a similar situation ( well not really, but it involves standing your ground ) happen to me when I worked for Directv. I was contacted by a customer who was tossed around the automated systems for about 10 minutes and was PO'd to say the least. He simply wanted to get his tv hooked up so he could see the superbowl that Sunday. The reason he was switched back n forth was because he was an existing customer who had recently disconnected service. At least thats what our system showed. Upon further investigation I found it was the previous tenant in the apt that had the service and just never formally disconnected it so I proceeded to set this guy up. As I'm going through the process I have the QA lady come start tapping on my shoulder during the call all ballistically saying " YOU CANT DO THAT". I place my customer on hold and told her the situation, then proceeded to finish his order. Again while I'm talking to the customer she starts running her mouth. Again I place the customer on hold and proceed to tell the woman this word for word....." Lady, your pissin me off and your interfering with a customer/direct sales setup. If you have a problem with me or what I'm doing then I suggest you go talk to Cody ( my boss )....otherwise get the **** away from me! Her jaw dropped and I finished my call and had the guys tv on in no time. I saved a customer, got myself a sale. A positive on both ends. Still fuming mad I go on break and proceed to go to Cody's office where the QA was complaining already. I told my side, she told hers, and lucky for me the call was recorded. Needless to say she got reprimanded as she was overheard on the call interfering, and I handled the situation perfectly. She was no longer my QA. Don't put up with BS from anyone if your in the right! Then there was this one time I had a boss who liked to cuss me out on the random occassion......poor guy never saw it coming.:crutch::clown:

wyohunter
as a "boss" i know that he wasnt happy to have to "deal" with a situation.... but you have to deal with them, and i hope now that you called this guys bluff at bullying you, he wont try it again. you stood your ground, and he will seek out a lesser victim.... as a boss i seen that too
dance.and.shoot
Yeah, the weird thing is, this guy normally isn't a bully. we all love him to death and he's one of the nicest guys here, treats everyone with respect! It was weird. we're all just glad he's back to his normal, cheerful, teasing self!!!
