Ethan Givan
Call a buddy that does have a four wheeler...or call a couple buddies and take a drag rope and take turns dragging it out.

wyohunter
my wife used to help drag mine well over a mile... now that i have the 4 wheeler she doesnt feel the need to be there...lol... and before anyone gets chapped aboutthe 4 wheeler, its private land and i have permission....or im on public land with my ORV sticker
coles
I use either my 4 wheeler if im on private land and have permission, or drive to it with the pickup if i have permission. If its on public land where vehicles arent permitted, I either get help to drag it out or call my grandpa to come with the horses.
BearClaw
We hunt on private land near four wheeler trails. If you aim right they'll drop in their tracks and it's pretty easy. Hit wrong and it's the old fashioned drag way to the four wheeler trail.

250savage
just grab a leg/antler or whatever else you can and pull! lucky for me though it was all down hill:cool:
fly
If I can't drive my truck in to get it I use my game cart. Generally pull it in myself (after field dressing, lighten the load)
Doc
how do you guys get a deer drug out of the woods if you dont have a 4 wheeler and its a very hilly terrain with ravines etc?? Hunt the hilltops and drag the deer down. Ha-ha.... Sometimes that can pose a problem too if the hills are too steep and have some snow on them. Just keeping up with the critter and staying on your feet can be a trick. Stay out of those ravines.....lol. A deer being dragged down hill always want's to slide into those ravines if you lose control of them. Then you DO have a problem. slaw
there is a 2-wheel cart for carrying deer you should invest in , if not there is a plastic sled that will make things easier.
brad dryden
Drink a bunch of energy drinks and throw it over you shoulders and a way you go.....Only works on little deer unless you are a hoss.
camoman1
If you really had to, you could quarter the deer up and pack it out in pieces. **I would check your states regulations on doing that however**
SchuLace
We always use a fourwheeler. We are also on private land. Many times it will end up in a ravine or in a place where we can't get the fourwheeler. Thats when a good friend comes in handy to help drag. If I were in a place where I couldn't use a fourwheeler, I would invest in a game cart.
sluggunner
Warren & Sweat Deer Hauler. I use a deer hauler, you know one of those two wheeled carts with the big bicycle tires that do not fill up with air. Mine is a Warren & Sweat Pony model. Best gift I ever got for hunting. Makes the job a snap even going over logs and hauling them up very steep ravines. I have had mine for years and I have hauled many many deer out of the woods with it. I LOVE it!!! When it finally rusts through I'm going right out and buying another one.
tp793
Grab a leg or an antler and have at it.
bghunter777
I do alot of hunting Way back in WV sometime 2 or 3 mile one area in Pocohontas county we kicked in 4.5 miles to an area. I typically drag my deer out. Just make sure you have lots of time. I bought a deer cart but was not a fan of it could have just been my particular model in theory they look great. Also we have quartered a few of them that are a ridge or two away. If you have done any hunting in WV you know what i mean some of those hills deer are just not going up. I do almost all my hunting on public land walk in only accesses.
Grady269
I keep a sharp knife and 4 trash bags in my pack for just those occasions.
Whitetail Freak Hunter
I have a Game Hauler game cart that will take up to 500 lbs, which can still be a job. Most of the time, I'm hunting with a friend who does have 4 wheelers, but even then we still pack the Game Hauler along in case we set out on foot. If your in snow country when you get something down, those roll up toboggans http://www.emscogroup.com/products/product?id=70&category_id=25 work great as the game just slide right over the snow and ice. But if your in cell phone coverage, like others have said, as a last resort.... call friends.
hunter_mike
i see most everyone seems to be dragging them out, but me and a buddy got a doe on a really steep hillside so we carried it out indian style with the legs tied around a big limb it was ten times easier than it would have been to drag. i now use this technique very often when i am far from a vehicle. joeaveragehunter
I hunt in big ravine country. Grab another guy or get in shape and bring water when you go hunting
MichiganHunter
It depends, If it's just me...I man the heck up and drag till I drop. If I have a friend I'll make him drag some of it or you can put the deer in a tarp and tie it over a tree branch or a pole OR tie the front and real legs together and slide them on a pole or tree branch and carry it that way. huntinman802
im huntin mostly fields so if they die where i want them they are in the open and isnt too bad draggin. sometimes i can talk someone into driving the pickup out to where i am. but other than a piece of twine we dont use anything special to drag them out
