Orion_70
Well, I have to say this sucks! I went to La. to hunt with some family last week and killed a doe. I went by the hunting camp here in Florida yesterday and as soon as I pulled in a buddy came over and asked if I heard the news, which I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he told me the timber company sold the land and we would have to vacate by Dec 15, right in the middle of deer season.:angry::angry: UGH!!! At least they are refunding a portion of the lease money. Some rich people bought it for a private hunting club, 2800 acres. There's a week of either sex days coming up the week of Thanksgiving though, if it's brown it's down that week:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:........... Orion_70
I've never had a hunting lease ripped out from under us in the middle of season either. Have put a lot of time and money into that hunting spot, food plots, stands, feeders. I've got to pull everything by dec 15. That's the breaks though
redkneck
Man that stinks! I cant see doing that too someone. Seems like the new owners would let you pay them the other portion of your lease to hang on to it for what few weeks are left and start clean on the next season. Sorry to hear it bud. dawgitall
Thats awful! I know that St. Joe owns most of the timberland in N. FL. and I think most all of it is for sale. Hate to hear that.
csimon
man that is crappy news. good luck during the remaining time on the lease, and more luck on finding a new one for next season
