muggs
Back to sucking that is........ Remember how you guys were all trying to tell after that "impressive" win against that MAC powerhouse Central Michigan how many good things Rich Rod was doing with this program? What happened to all that talk anyway? Oh, and somebody buy that Forcier or how every you spell it a few meals prior to the OSU game. Cameron Heyward might break that dude in two and nobody wants to see that (ok, I kinda do).

Cameron Heyward might break that dude in two and nobody wants to see that (ok, I kinda do). They are a lot better than last year. Just wait a couple years when Rich gets his guys that he recruited in there that are not freshmen. You are so quick to judge. You have to be patient when changing a program all around like he did. One of the best coaches in the country just needs a little time. Heyward needs to catch Forcier before he can "break him in two". I am gonna laugh when Forcier makes a move on him making him leave his jock strap on the field. Don't count your chickens before they hatch, that is why they play the game. Michigan has been competitive in most of their games this year and almost beat Iowa. I am gonna laugh when Iowa beats OSU down this weekend. I am a die hard wolverines fan and he needs time. He will get Michigan back to that level. It would be idiotic for them to fire him. He has only been there two years and is just now getting the players he needs for his system. Now if next year they still suck, then the firing talk can begin, but they have to a least give him the chance to recruit his players before jumping on him. They have shown flashes this year so I think they are on the way up.

He is STILL waiting on Brady Quinn & that Olden fellow to become the superstars that he annoited them as.:clown: Yeah, really, why wait for a 21 year old center to get reach his prime? btw- He had 18 and 11 last night. He was also the best Trailblazer in the preseason, and that includes being better than former ROY Brandon Roy. If you're trying to build a championship fantasy BBall squad, then by all means you take Pipecleaner Arms Durant. If you're trying to build an NBA Championship squad you take the dominant big. Durant gets abused on the defensive end of the floor. Kobe and LeBron are also premier defenders, Durant will never be anything more than a scorer. A guy like that is a dime a dozen...just ask the Kings and Kevin Martin. Just like with the Favre and Andruw Jones things, I'm so far ahead of the curve on this one you guys just can't see it yet. You will though...mabye even by the end of next year. As far as Quinn goes, they gave him 10 quarters against three of the NFL's top five defenses then yanked him. Not really give the kid a fair shake at it. He could be a very good QB in this league, but you have to call plays that promote what the guy can bring to the table. Brian freaking Dabol isn't going to get that done though. Edited November 12, 2009 by muggs
muggs
almost beat Iowa. I am gonna laugh when Iowa beats OSU down this weekend. So did NORTHERN Iowa. That Iowa squad was perhaps the most overrated top five team I've ever seen. OSU would have smoked them even with Stanzi in at QB. Stanzi actually is from Lake Catholic High School which is about 2.5 miles from my front door. The dude didn't even play QB at Lake until his junior year. He's terrible. If he was any good, the Bucks would have recruited him. Instead he had to go to some middle of the road Big Ten program where he can throw 5 INTs a half and actually keep his starting job. You can't suck that bad and continue to start at a prerennial powerhouse like OSU. We get the cream of the crop. We don't need former RBs who've been an average HS QB for a couple years. OSU is going to smoke Iowa by about 30 points this Saturday and although I expect Meatchicken to give them a tough go...honestly, evne in the Big House, Michigan has not faced a D like OSU all year. It's over for them until they get rid of Rich Rod, his back-stabbing and his gimmick garbo offense. Wake up guys...I'm tired of having to give up so much sports knowledge for nothing. I might have to start charging...$$$$$$. Edited November 12, 2009 by muggs
SuperMn106
Iowa, middle of the road? You must be looking at the standings from years past because it sure looks like to me that they are tied for the top spot with the bucks. There is one incorrect statement in your post. I will give you the Bucks get some good talent but Pryor has not been that great throwing the ball this year. He has 9 Ints in 10 games and has a completion percentage of just barely over 50%. Also his yards per completion is only in the 7 range so that means he is just dinking and dunking down the field and only completes it about half the time. Yep cream of the crop there. Stanzi kept his job because he was winning. He had one bad game and they won that game. Again the reason why Michigan is down is because Coach Rod is playing with freshmen. What team do you know that can compete with freshmen? Give him a couple of years and watch them own the Bucks. Then you can talk about the gimmick system and coach. By the way it would be hard for you to charge for your knowledge because half of it does not make sense and 40% is incorrect. That only leaves about 10% of usefull information. Iowa, middle of the road? They're a step up from the Northwesterns, and Indianas of the world, and a step down from the Buckeyes and Penn St. (Meatchicken used to be in this group- now they're even a step down from Indiana and you still support Rich Rob). dwellars) Pryor is also 19 years old, a sophomore, came from a D-II PA High School where he only threw the ball 5 times per game. He's also rushed for well over 1,000 yards in his OSU career...how many combined TDs does he have? I'm not sure why people thought he was coming in as groomed as Sam Bradford because I sure didn't. The kid was and still is very raw. But he's made great strides thus far. 19 year old kids still have a lot of progression to experience...and progress they will, especially when you're that gifted. Here's another thing stats or ESPN won't tell you. You're right, the passing game has suffered, but they're also going to win another Big Ten title with one of the worst passing offenses they've ever had...as well as two starting tailbacks who I think are definitely sub-par for OSU runningbacks. Oh, and they also start 7 true sophomores on offense. Once this offense gels, which it will, they'll be a legit title contender again. Pryor will win them a NT in 2012. OK so what is the difference when you say Pryor is young and raw and me saying ALL of Coach Rods guys (that he recruited) is young and raw? Like I said give him a couple years to get his players in there and let them be Juniors and Seniors and THEN we can judge on what kind of coach he is. If Iowa is a step down from the Penn States how come they beat them? Kind of contradictory to me. Again Michigan a step down from Indiana? They beat them this year. Yet another unsupported incorrect statement out of Muggsys mouth. I am not saying Michigan is better than the Bucks. I will tell you right now they are not and will get beat up on like last year when they play. Pryor will be outstanding when he gains experience. I just wanted to point out the double standard you were setting. :clown:

SuperMn106
Give his players time to get accustomed to college ball. I bet Forcier will be a better college QB than Pryor. Rich Rods players are pretty much all freshmen right now. Think I seen somewhere that Michigan starts the most freshmen in the Big Ten. This is only Rich Rods second year I remind you. Talk to me after next year or the year after.

Yeah, bud, ya boy Forcier looked good against Cen Michigan and a terrible Notre Dame defense. He hasn't look anything like that since. Pryor has way more upside, I think Forcier is right at his ceiling. Rich Robber will be fired by the time these players reach their potential and if they bring in someone who doesn't run the spread, then they're really stuck. Anyway, the most important thing factor here is the fact they sold out their idenity for a guy who stabbed his alma matre in the back and a guy who's led them straight into national embarrassment. Why are you so bent on supporting this bum? I want him out just so you guys can actually be half way decent when OSU rolls you. Make me feel a lot better about the whole thing. I also think Pryor has more upside but Tressel does not know how to use him to his full potential. With the spread Forcier can use all of his. He looks like a true freshmen (like he is) this year. Just wait untill he has more experience. As far as stabbing his alma matter in the back. The guy was offered his "dream job" you can not blame a guy for taking it. I do not think he took them into National embarassment because you can not get much embarassing by losing to a D 1 AA team lol. If they fire him before he can get his Seniors in there then they deserve to be where they are at.
muggs
As far as stabbing his alma matter in the back. The guy was offered his "dream job" you can not blame a guy for taking it. I do not think he took them into National embarassment because you can not get much embarassing by losing to a D 1 AA team lol. I'd never blame a guy for taking a dream job, but I'll blame a guy every time for bailing on his team before one of the bigger bowl games in the school's history and backing out of a contractual agreement- which by the way was worth millions. If someone is willing to pay me millions, I'll pay them the respect they deserve. Also, if 50 young man are willingly to come and play for me as a coach based on the promises I made them, I'm going to see those promises through. Some guys have better character than others though. Rich Rod is a dbag, buddy get with that fact. Tressel is definitely using Pryor the way he should be. If Pryor wanted to run the spread, he would have played for Rich Rod. But he wanted to be groomed to be a true QB. That's a huge reason he signed with OSU. Tressel gave Pryor his word that he'd do that for the kid...at the risk of losing some games during the maturation process and facing national criticism. Again, it all comes back to character, and Jim Tressel is a man of his word and although I sometimes question his game planning, I'll never question the man's character. He's a leader of men, Rich Rod is a me first, looking out for number one SOB who's running your once proud program into the freaking cellar. Keep sticking up for him if you want, I'm just telling you the facts as they are. If I had a son lucky enough to be offered a D-I scholarship, who would I rather have him play for? An arrogant selfish backstabber, or a man who runs an ethical program and keeps his word? Ask yourself that. Tress got the #1 RB recruit along with Pryor in Jamal Berry. Berry was caught selling drugs, so he hasn't seen the field all year (hasn't even dressed I believe). Rich Rob would have been starting the guy since that Cen Michigan game.
