GWSmith
Jeez Gary...NY won't be the same til you get back . Hope you guys have a safe trip and it all works out according to plan. Make sure you mix so fun into it all! Thanks for the well wishes! We will be checking out the historical sites and I'll be doing a little hunting while we're there too. I'm taking my Bow with me;) As for the state we live in here....It will still be the land of over-regulation while I'm gone so you wont feel any changes...LOL

GWSmith
Well the time had to come for it to happen...our "Boys" went to stay at another persons home. We could'nt take them on the move but they did go to a really nice family who has plenty of tank room for them. When they came to the house to get them they brought one of their little daughters and she was very excited to see the fish that were coming home with her...that helped. Said Goodbye to our Jack Dempsey and Oscar tonight...

GWSmith
Well just one more day...and we'll be on the road headed South! Stopping for a day in North Carolina checking out places to live then on to central Florida to be with Family during ThanksGiving. I got my truck back tonight with only the Inspection left to do in the morning then it's good to go...After a Week in the Shop!!!! They had to chase EVAP codes and finally narrowed everything down to it being a bad pressure sensor on the feul sending unit and a crack in the filler neck of the fuel tank. They would fix one problem and another code would show as something else wrong. Finally the last code was eliminated by replacing a bad sensor that had already been replaced earlier in the week. It should pass inspection in the morning..should:whip: The wifes car went in to get inspected this morning and ended up needing a wheel bearing as well. We're glad that they are both now ready for the trip and hopefully wont give us many if any problems. If I turn the radio up loud enough I can hardly hear the painful moan my wallet is making right now...such is life.:crutch: I'm not complaining because it surely is better to find and fix problems ahead of time than to have to do it on the road;) I'm whining because the last week I'd get to hunt up here got spent watching hunting shows on TV:hammer1: Edited November 21, 2009 by GWSmith
92xj
If you run into any problems with vehicles or anything else in the state of North Carolina, let me know ASAP. I have plenty of connections that will help you out. Mainly in the mountains around Boone but also some in Raleigh which will be an hour or so away from you as well as Charlotte. Do not hesitate, these guys will give up the world to help a friend out. Good luck on the journey! Wish I was back home to hang out. Take lots of pictures for me. I sure do miss it there. Doe-ee
Glad you finally got your truck back. I know that must have been a long week without it. You and Linda are in our prayers for a safe trip south. Be sure to check in on us when you have time to spare from all the sightseeing. Bon Voyage! GWSmith
We got delayed on leaving until the morning with another issue with the truck. That problem has finally been solved....for more money of course All these repairs just to be able not to have a stinking "Check Engine" light on. EVAP codes are the Devil We have everything mostly packed and will finish loading the vehicles before we go to bed tonight. The morning is coffee, then winterizing the house, then Finally hitting the road! (the Good Lord willing and the Creek dont rise) I'm oh sooooo ready to get my bacon and eggs on the road Edited November 22, 2009 by GWSmith
