sureshot
out in the news today a 20 doller bounty on coyotes, sure it will help pay fuel but it will bring out all the idiots who should not own a gun, just talked with the warden and he is worried to, people will run them down and shotgun them, chase them whatever it takes becouse they are sure our warden will not find them in the huge area he has to cover, famers will get ticked off, more posted land, they will think all coyote hunters will hunt like that!! this is the reason I like the hides being about 30-35 bucks, I can pay my fuel and most will not so they do not hunt them or risk being caught, in a case like this all they have to do is get the coyote cut 4 paws off and leave the rest to rot!!!just makes me freeking sick to think of what it will end up like, morons who run this place!!!!!!!!!!! Muleyman
Ya me and Brandon were just talking about that and that is gonna suck. This is my first year I am gonna do some yote hunting. Thinking of all the idiots out there it makes me mad to think about this. I never thought of that either farmers are gonna get the wrong impression of hunters and aren't gonna let much people hunt on their land. Prairiepredator
When I was in the office today I heard them talking about this same thing. I think the exact same way as you do about this whole situation Bret, it is just retarded! I was really looking forward to doing some coyote hunting this winter, so I hope this does not ruin it for Carson and I! Once again the government makes another big mistake!
sureshot
I am sending a e-mail to Yogi the mla right away here telling him my thouhgts, they pay like this but will not allow non resident hunters, idiots, don't worry I will still bring you out and we will do good, becouse the idiots who are after them will hunt the farmland were they can chase them, I will just stay in the bush were I have to work for them, I am just worried about getting permission on lots of land!! davetucker
we here in maine wish the bounty would come back here!!With record snowfalls the past two yrs and large amounts of yotes our deer herd has diminished very low!!They are predicting 15,000 less deer harvested here in maine!! So i guess i will do my part this yr and go yote slaying which i have never hunted!! So can anyone give me good winter hunting advise for these creatures and what has been a good bait to use!!!ALL help will be greatly appreciated!!! scdeerslayer
this will get nonhunters to try their luck, but after they fail b/c they are only in it for the money you wont have to worry. Just hope they dont make a bad name for hunters..

Texan_Til_I_Die
I would love to see a bounty offered here in Texas. We are overrun with them and the hides are nearly worthless. You're very lucky to have one bring $20.
backwoods07
We already have all the boneheads running around with guns during firearm season. Having a bounty on yotes wouldn't change much around here except to motivate me more to sit out in the freezing cold in February.
sureshot
I have heard of quit a few left by roads with feet cut off, more to fuel the fire for antis, also have had buddies told by 3 ranchers no coyote hunting this year, they are ticked off by this, I have not asked them seeing I use the hides and they know me it may be ok,plus the calling has been terrable, I usually have close to 100 by new year and Ithink I am only at 25 or 30, my best day calling was getting 4 by the caller in, last year I had a 13 day and 2 10 days, I despertly need a 13 dog day to pay for some of the fuel lol, that would eb 260 for the feet and prob a good 340 for the hides if theya re all good, a 600 doller day would help out lol!!!!! hopefully once the deer season ends it will be better, gets depressing when I am used to calling in coyotes at every second stand this time of year, sunday called 13 stands blank, not even one in the distance!!!!!!!![did get 3 a fox and my first badger called in later in the day. sureshot
right now early in the season I do not howl as much, the pups are abit intimated by the adult howling and cared they will get into forien territory, if I have one howl to me I will respond and if a dry area I will throw a couple greeting howls out try toentice one to come in, I think I will start a more aggressive calling this weekend and see how that works, I just think they are so scared from he hundreds of peopel shooting at them running from a mile away they are skittish, maybe if I make it sound like a female there they will coem in, will give it a try!! elkoholic
With the cost of fuel and ammo I would think that $20.00 is not a good enough incentive to spur a huge increase in people out chasing after coyotes. Hopefully, any impact on your hunting is short lived and you can enjoy some quality time in pursuit of the wily coyote.
