The_Kat
Legitimate and rational in whose eyes? The post-digger-upper? The mods? The other members who read it (again)? How often does the whole first page get filled up with old threads? I'd say the majority of posts in general are not legitimate or rational (including some of mine....) Toms got his thinking cap on today :robot::pullup: Don't read to much into this thread, its my way of stirring the pot to keep myself entertained. buckee
If these threads weren't supposed to "rear their ugly heads ever again", why are they still accessible? Old threads don't bother me at all. There's nothing wrong with digging up an old post to re-disguss a good topic, but to dig up 10 or 20 in the same week is a bit much, especially if it's just to make some silly comment on an old uninteresting thread. The Moron thread is priceless, because it is nostalgic, and very important for new members to understand why we call each other "Morons" :clown::clown:

wtnhunt
Legitimate and rational in whose eyes? The post-digger-upper? The mods? The other members who read it (again)? How often does the whole first page get filled up with old threads? I'd say the majority of posts in general are not legitimate or rational (including some of mine....) LOL. Guess I see your point Tom, lot of threads are probably pointless to everyone but the poster and in some cases some may even be pointless to the original poster. Maybe I should have worded what I said differently. Really does not bother me for a post or two to be brought back by a new user, actually some of us mods do refer new users from time to time to old posts, however when a new user brings up a crap load of old posts and nearly fills the first page, seems that there would be no rational reason behind that user doing that other than to maybe attempt to be funny or to pad their post count or who knows what else but there would not seem to be a reasonable explanation for it. He didn't say the whole first page........he said nearly. Yep, and there have been a few members(newbies), one fairly recent, who have brought back numerous threads knocking recent threads off the first page in the process making them easily missed. Old threads don't bother me at all. I agree with this 100%. A few weeks ago a bunch of old posts got locked because they got brought up. Whats up with that? :hammer1: If the mods and admins don't want old posts brought up, start deleting posts after a certain amount of time. I for one really enjoy reliving the old posts. All you guys are way too uptight about the old posts. Everyone doesn't feel the way you do about it. The way I feel about it, is that if an old post is still accessable, its fair game!!!!
