redkneck
I should have already had the kids out shooting, I know, but I've just been so busy. Their new 243 misfired on several of the Winchester rounds I bought. Everything looked good one the rifle, so I guess I'll go out and pick up some Hornady or Core locks and get the kids out tomorrow and see what we got. What do you guys shoot in that caliber? I think 80gr is too light, got 100gr powerpoints last year.
MichiganHunter
I've been a big fan of the federal fusion.....They seam to be a great very accurate round. Edited November 13, 2009 by MichiganHunter
okiedog
I still have 2 or 3 boxes of core-lokt's left to shoot then I will start handloading them.
MichiganHunter
ya know the core-lokts are good rounds too. The only few times I used a .243 was when one was lent to me to yote hunt, and it was loaded with fusion rounds, they are great bullets. It was massive damadge to the one yote I smoke. My 30-06 loves core-lokts and I'll prob keep shooting them out of that. My thing is that I would like to see with small rounds like the 243 or even 270 is a round the expands ALOT to cause more damadge. I know the fusions expand alot thats why I recommended them. redkneck
Thanks guys. I was in a hurry today, and stopped by a local shop. All they had was winchester and hornady. I got a box of hornady 100gr BTSP. We'll see tomorrow if that cures my misfires.
wtnhunt
We use 100 grain core lokt psp for the wifes savage model 10 and 100 grain power points for my daughters a bolt. Never had any problems with misfires with either here.
