WestKyTeacher
On another thread everyone talked about getting in early to not spook the deer as much, so what time should I head for the stand? Here's the rise and set according to weatherunderground. Oh, also which one do should you follow for getting into the stand? November 13, 2009 CST Rise Set Actual time 6:25 am 4:39 pm Civil Twilight 5:58 am 5:07 pm Nautical Twilight 5:26 am 5:38 pm Astronomical Twilight 4:56 am 6:09 pm Moon 3:08 am 2:31 pm Length of visible light 11h 09m Lenght of Day 10h 13m Tomorrow will be 1m 47s shorter I forgot to mention, tomorrow is opening for gun season. Thanks! Edited November 13, 2009 by WestKyTeacher
Rugermk2
I'd be in the stand at least 45 minutes before the sun even starts to come up. I've hunted that way every year, and every year I tag out the first day. Just don't make alot of noise and you should be fine. Also make sure you have your scent covered. Good Luck and Happy Hunting
WestKyTeacher
thanks for the advice, went in early, stayed all day and walked out at 2:30 with a nice 10pt!
cain
I try not to get in any later than 5:30. That's in Daviess, Co. KY. Yesterday around 5:40 a 3-ptr literally walked under my stand. I had only been there 20 min. Then my now 10-ptr walked out at 9:30. Contrats on the buck!
Rugermk2
Congrats on the kill!!!! It works for me just about every year going in way before the light even starts to come up. It's good to know that your hunt went well. Good luck in the future as well!

niet32
I go in about an hour before light. Some deer (when it's real dark) won't even spook if you are quiet. I have had deer less than 100 yds away not even notice I just walked by them and up into my stand. Last year I shot a deer that was at the feeder one too many minute long...
