8ptbuckpa
i shot the maxxis 31, it is extremely smooth and extremely fast, if i had the 800 layin around my switchback xt would be hung up for a while
BowTech292
Have a friend that just bought a new Hoyt (something). I shot it, wasn't real impressed, kinda noisy. I'll stick to the BowTech.
JackedUpZ71
If I upgrade this year the Maxxis will be pretty high up on the list. I was talking to the local pro the other day, and he said that the bow that was all carbon was starting out at $1500 bare bow.

WOW! 1500$ for a hoyt,or any bow for that matter.A person would have to be crazy to give that much for a bow.

This has been discuessed before, but if you knew about everything that was put into this bow and understood what kind of jump it is for the archery industry you would understand why it is worth that much. Tony
i will be checking out the new Hoyts this year. i think its time for a new hunting bow, but i want at least 35 inches axle to axle. i dont like the short bows, the string angle is too steep for me. The_Kat
I heard the Carbon bow was 1600$ and thats from my good buddy who is a Hoyt dealer here. As far as the hunting bows.....I haven't shot any of the new ones. A very few people I have talked to said the maxxis is no better than the AM. If thats the case save your 800 and buy the turbohawk and load it out instead of paying 800 for a bare bow.
Tim Andrus
Ive got the Alpha Max dialed in perfect , dont really need or want new one ... But on the other hand Im going to have to look now..Curious///

Casey
I'm going to look at the alpha burner. I like those short brace height bows, they seem to fit my the best and I shoot them really good.
Hoyt03
I'm a Hoyt guy and I think paying 1600 for that new bow just b/c it's a little lighter is crazy. My current bow is the 07 Vectrix, if I can find a good deal on a new left over AM32 might go for it.
maxxis31
i shot the new hoyts and as you can see in my log in i loved them all my dealer also said 1600 on the carbon matrix and he probably wont get any
ultratec1
I've had the chance to shoot the Maxxis 31 and 35 and I also got to draw the alphaburner. Maxxis 31 is obviously 31" ATA with ALITTLE pre-load in the limbs. It also has a roller guard instead of a cable slide (not sure if I like that or not) I did shoot the Alphamax and the Maxxis back to back and must say that the 31 is a smoother drawing and shooting bow then the AM. For those guys like Tony who want that longer ATA the 35 is the way to go. Once again, alittle pre-load in the limbs and roller guard but long enough to get that string angle to work for the guys that liked the pre-parallel limb days. The alphaburner is the bow I've been waiting for. Not because of the speed, I think that speed is to often used and it sacrifices the quality of a good bow. The thing that i like about the alphaburner is the spiral cam. The spiral cam can not be used on a bow with 1000 or shorter limbs and the vast majority of the new bows have these limbs. The Alphaburner has 2000 limbs and little shorter brace height but has the alphamax riser design making it a light bow. The AB wasnt set up to shoot when I went to look at it but the thing draws like butter. SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH. The spiral cam has the history of wanting to jump out of your hand due to the shortness of the valley and very little let off. HOWEVER this year hoyt has got the AB with spiral cams to 70% let off. In the past it has been 65%. The biggest thing that I noticed about the AB was that the spirals seemed more solid and less jerky than the XTR cams that were on the Maxxis and Alphamax. I really think Hoyt listened to the consumer on this one. The sad thing is that they got rid of the Ultra and pro elite series bows. Those days are gone. It is now the contender Elite. Dont get me wrong I know that there will be great shooting bows, but I will miss the Ultra's. Bout cried when the Ultra-tec went away and bout did the same when the U-elite was gone also. The Vantage elite cam out last year along with the Vantage pro ( non shoot through riser). These bows are offered once again this year and I must say that I love my Vantage pro with spirals. Solid aiming bow!!!!! Same goes for the vantage elite.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have been looking at the maxxis 31. Been a Mathews guy for a long time, but if the maxxis shoots as smooth as everyone is saying, I might be switching (don't worry, I will be keeping my Switchback ). I am hoping the guy across the street gets approved to become a Hoyt dealer soon. He already was turned down by Mathews, I think Hoyt was next on his list.
