Thinking about a new choke tube.....

I have a Remington Turkey choke, but I have never been real confident with it. I want to try something new, but I really don't feel like buying 4 choke tubes and end up using 1. tongue.gif Should I just go pick one out and hope for the best with it? Thinking about the HS Undertaker. I know everyone says the choke they're shooting is the best, and I know that they are not. Different guns like different combos.....crap....maybe I should just take the bow instead. laugh.gif Guns are too complicated for me.... smirk.gif

You could certainly do a lot worse than an Undertaker, that's for sure. And spend a lot more money too. I love mine. 7 shots, 7 dead turkeys. But there are a lot of other excellent choke tubes out there too, as well as some bad ones.

Go to Wal-Mart.....buy a choke tube...shoot it.....dont like it?....take it back.....buy a new one....repeat. grin.gif

or

Stick with the factory choke.....I sill use mine for my Mossberg 500. I sure as heck dont have money to be buying all kinds of chokes and shells. I'm sure I could get a better pattern but, I have leveled every bird I have shot at with that gun. wink.gif

Re: Thinking about a new choke tube.....

I would suggest the Undertaker by H.S. I have had one on my Mossberg 500 and now one on my Charley Daley. My 12 gauge Charles Daley gets a good pattern out to 50 yards with the Undertaker shooting 3" #5's. Anything 20 yards and under is absolutely devistating. I have also used a Comp N' Choke on my 10 gauge and that patterns real nice, but its also a little on the pricey side.

I like the H.S undertaker for my Nova 31/2 Hevi Shot #4,5 or 6.My brotherinlaw has a TruGlo and he likes his shooting Winchester #5 or #6.Remember holes in paper don't mean holes in a bird. Try to keep it at 50 yrds or less.Try some HeviShot with your combo you have now.

Re: Thinking about a new choke tube.....

I just bought two choke tubes, a XXX full Comp-n-choke, and a Jellyhead for my 835. Plus the one that came with the gun! But Mossberg does not recommend shooting hevi-shot out of their extra full choke! Also bought a box of hevi-shot. So now the test begins! I plan on trying hevi-shot out of all three chokes. Oh! I also bought a Sims LimbSaver recoil pad, cant wait to see what kind of difference that makes!
