Good buck down

It was a great morning. Two smaller bucks were chasing a hot doe all around me when they froze and I heard this nice 9 pointer coming. He ran the smaller bucks off and luckily enough, the doe made her way about 20 yards broadside of me and was standing ready for this buck.

He took a big, quick step just as I was releasing the arrow. He was sort of quartering a little towards me as well so I wasn't sure about the shot so we hung back for a few hours. As it turns out, he only went about 125 yards and piled up. The arrow hit one lung, the liver and unfortuately opened up the stomach (getting the guy turned into a lot of sausage and smokies). You can actualy see how far back the exit wound is.

He's not much for mass but he has good length. His one brow tine was broken off, and the other side look like it was damaged in past years. His right g2 was also broken. He was a fighter. I haven't done much bowhunting the past few years so I was more than pleased with him.

Please tell me you don't hunt with that Indians hat on.:laser:

Ha, no. I took mt camo off and we went and had breakfast before we went looking for him. Like I said, I wasn't sure about the shot since he was moving when I took it so I didn't want to push him. As it turned out I could have given it 20 minutes and I would have been okay. Better safe than sorry I guess.
