Slash
Was hunting my usual tree stand on Saturday night and 1 lonely doe came out of the woods to the west and milled around under my stand for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden she stiffens up and starts staring to the east (up the field) 3 months ago I would not have known what that meant but that night, I knew exactly what it meant. From all the way across the field, a nice 8-pointer came running to the doe. Stopped a little ways out and just watched her for a minute. It was funny how he ran to the west like he was going to go into the woods and then ran back over to her! I thought "what the..." He never got too close to her or me and eventually took off into the woods to the west. My first personal experience of "the rut" and it was exciting. Plus, it proves that they are still out there, just really good at playing hide and seek lol
