You also have to understand that when you and I pay off our balances each month like we do, the banks don't make any money off us. They make their best money on people that run up balances, then pay the minimum payment each month.

This is probably the single biggest factor in GE's decision. As much as they may claim differently, credit card companies don't want "good" customers. I did what some of the others have and switched to a debit card several years ago and only have 1 credit card that I use for concert tickets and some big purchases that I want the extra protection on and NEVER carry a balance. Sounds like you were using it like a debit card anyway. Get one and say good riddance to GE.
