Casey
How big does a field need to be to planted with alfalfa. Wanting to put a pretty small plot next to a river bottom. Going to be a secret spot for early bow season next year.
doubledrop
I would say 1/2 an acre would be fine but i am sure anything planted is better than nothing at all.

dogdoc
Casey--when you are developing a small little "kill" plot I really like using a quick growing annual. It will handle the pressure a little better and are actually more attractive in the winter than alfalfa. There are several "no till" blends out on the market that work great for this situation. todd
PotashRLS
I agree with the annual for a kill plot. I also think that clover is a better bet in a low-lying area like a riverbottom than alfalfa. Most alfalfas are deep rooted and better suited for higher ground. Ravin R10 man
Go with a clover blend, or a blend of annuals
