The_Kat
Draft to the orange army that is....Our rifle season opener is this Saturday. I'm looking forward to heading up to NW to put the long range smack down on a big buck and some does. I wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully it's a good season. I know the rut up there and down here is going strong. Be sure to wear your orange. Alls these "accident" stories this season have me a little leary. The_Kat
Seen 6 bucks total today. The first two we saw this morning were both shooters, one being a nice tall 8 that I guessed to be around 135 inches or so and the other a really nice 8 that I guessed to be 145-150. Big boy never offered a shot but the smaller one offered a few chances, but I decided to pass him and Jenn couldn't get on him in time. All in all it was a good day with plenty of deer movement. Tomorrow morning should be good as well. Hoping the big 8 comes a little closer and lets me get a better look at him to make sure he's the buck I wanna take. One thing I noticed today was these bucks are cruising hard for late does and don't give ya much time to decide to shoot or not. They are flat moving and not stopping for anything other than a hot doe.
