**New To Bowhunting**

Hey everyone,

I would like to start shooting a bow, but never owned one in my life!!!! I shot one a few years ago, and have wanted one ever since. What kind do you all recommend? I can pull 60-75 lbs pretty easy, and my draw length is pretty close to 30 inches. I talked to my friends dad, and he said to buy a used one first, because I would probably want to change things on it and so forth. If I get one, it would be primarily used for whitetail hunting. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

Welcome to the Club!! I myself am new to bowhunting, I started last year with a used bow I bought from a coworker and after that season I knew it was something I had gotten a extreme passion for. So IN Feb of this year I went and tried several bows out. I purchased a Mission Eliminator bow. It has all the qualities and warranty of the Matthews but not so high a price. Just as fast and quieter than the new ReZen. Try different bow and when you pick the one up that is best for you, you will know it. Good luck and just keep your options open.

Check out the Diamond bows by Bowtech. They are high quality and depending on what model you get can be very affordable. They are just as good if not better than matthews or hoyt, but they are less expensive. They are also easily adjustable for your specific draw length or draw weight. When I started out I bought a used PSE. The first time out bowhunting I was hooked. After my first season, after I knew I would be a bowhunter for life, I decided to get a new high quality bow that was set up for me, which was the Diamond Justice. I wouldn't argue against trying out a used bow first to see if you like it, but if your like most people that try bowhunting, you will be hooked right away, so getting a new bow right away if you find a good deal isn't a bad thing. Also you can always change rests, sights, etc etc on your bow, so if you get it set up and decide you don't like something you can change it without getting a whole new bow. The packages that you can get aren't a bad deal either, but the rests and sights are usually not the highest quality. hope this helps and good luck

like others have said shot whats comfortable. Figure out what you want to spend and shot every bow you can from that price down. Ive had guys come in and tell me they want this certain bow cause they have heard all these great things about it and after i have them shot that one and a few others half the time they leave with something else, so leave your options open.
