92xj
a question answered pretty quickly. What is the norm on tipping outfitters for a hunt? Say a one day hunt as well as a week long hunt. If you are successful or not? I know that shouldnt matter but it might to some. if you saw a lot of game but no shots, or if you saw zero game during the hunt. Discuss..... layin on the smackdown
It really never mattered how successful the hunt was when i was guiding, because you can't win em all, but the work is still there...My tips averaged about $20-$30/person/day. So if i took 5 guys out for a morning duck hunt i would usually end up with somewhere around are a little above $100 for the morning or 1/2 day hunt...thats about all i can give ya benny...and also take into consideration what you can afford. We tipped our guide $40 a day per person when we went snow goose hunting, and the outfitter said that was "generous". dan
stevebeilgard
i'd take folks on deer/antelope hunts which ran $3000 per person. i usually got $100-250 per person. often times stiffed and sometimes better. my best was a $3500 tip for a $3,000 hunt. i always got real good animals.
