The lil things that mean so much...

I dunno if I'm just a softy or what but I wanted to share how much of a panzy I am when it comes to Cash. The lil guy has started sitting up on his own and is now holding his bottle by himself and it just puts a lump in my throat each time he does something new. When he first laughed out loud it took all I had not to tear up.

But today he got me in tears.....not boo hoo tears, just the kind that rolled down my face and wouldn't stop. He looked up at me as I walked into the living room from outside. He smiled really big and said as clear as a bell......"daddy". It's his first word ever and he said daddy. I can't put into words the emotion it gave me but just typing this gets me all throat lumped up lol.

Too cool buddy....too cool........my 3 year old daughter had me in tears today, we were goofing off, and she went to pick something up...and "tooted".....and it was really loud. She looks up at me and says "was that me" and then just busts out laughing........nothing like a comical child in your life.......that must be why I have five.....al

Tears rolled down my face too the first time I heard my kids utter those infamous words:

"Can I have the keys to the Jeep Dad?"

or

"I need $20.00 bucks"

Seems to me I heard the bride utter the same words, but in more of a threatening tone! Yup, tears rolled down my face then too.....and still do!

'Course yu know I'm jes' jerkin' yer chain! Right? :shifty:

Yes I can recall my kids in their early years and the innosence of infancy and remember some of those "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" moments. That's the trick. Try to remember to recall those wonderful interactions in years to come. It'll get you through those, "Why in the world did we ever have kids?" years! But have faith, those years too will pass. Then they move out and have kids of their own and your only wish is that your grandkids will put your kids through the same turbulent teenage years that yours inflicted upon you!

'Course yu know I'm jes' jerkin' yer chain! Right?:helpsmilie:

All kiddin' aside, like Buckee said, "Cherish every moment Kyle, because they grow up way too quick".

Neat, ain't it??

I had two emotional " kid moments" last week myself.

Last Wednesday Lilmissdangerous called me on my cell phone at work and told me she had passed the test and gotten her driving learner's permit. Hair stood up on the back of my neck.

Then Thursday the Mrs. calls me on my cell phone at work. Our little monkey (he's 2 1/2) went poopy on the potty. Made my heart soar.

What a rollercoaster of emotion kids are. Enjoy the ride!!!

Enjoy every moment.

My daughter just turned 9 and I wish I could freeze her at this age and keep her my little girl forever, but I know soon other people and other things will be more important to her than mom & dad and that is going to bring the other kind of tears to my eyes as she grows up and doesn't need us the way she needs us now.

Gotta also agree with Steve. Lots of times that will get you bud and I will be the first to admit I have shed a many tears when it comes to my kids and sure I will shed many more. Nothing wrong with being soft when it comes to your kids beit it the good times or something as simple as seeing them have to go through getting their shots.
