Muleyman
Howdy guys. I am now shooting 85 grain G5 Montecs and they are alright. I am gonna switch to 100 grain broadhead though. I am thinkin about the muzzy 3 blades because everyone I have talked to tells me that you can't go wrong with Muzzy. What would you guys reccomend for 100 grain broadheads?? Thanks. joeaveragehunter
rage definitely has the best advertising campaign. Too bad I never got to find out for myself this year...
MonsterBuck48
ive shot different broadheads every year. and one of my favorties is the crimson talon. they dont leave much tracking to do after you hit a with one of these. theyre a 6 blade broadhead. 3of the blades are bleeder blades. theyre pretty sturdy too, just dont try to pull them out backwards they tend to break off. but they put a gapeing hole. somewhat like the rage2's. The Kid
depends on if your a fixed blade guy or a mechanical,, g5 montecs are a great fixed head u can resharpen them after use if your one of those guys that likes to reuse broadheads, muzzy are good too cheap for what you get too,, i shot a couple deer with steel force very sharp and cut very nice,, i've heard some people say the couldnt get the steel force to fly very good,, i've shot fixed for 10 years now and i just recently switched to mechanicals the rage 2 blade,, i haven't lost one yet with them so i'll keep using them,, by the way theres nothing wrong with your 85 grains i know quite a few people that pull 70 lbs and still shoot 85 grains

CTBowMan
Magnus Stingers....lifetime guarantee, if you bend, break, or you just need the blades sharpened, you send them back to Magnus and they will replace the entire broadhead...all you do is pay for the shipping one way back to them...you'll NEVER have to pay for another broadhead as long as you live...just pay for the shipping to return them and get brand new replacements. They will not upgrade, they will only replace the heads with the ones they receive, i.e. 85 gr for 85 gr. etc.... They fly like field points and will put a hurting on a deer! ~ Van

Missionman
I have started using the new NAP bloodrunners, they are mechanical and work either way, if for some reason the blades don't expande you still get like a 1 inch cut, unlike the rages. I have heard the rages are having problems with the bands breaking mid flight etc. Everybody has an opinion on whats best. I like the bloodrunners cause they fly great to me, and they have a great cut path.

Tony
why do you want to switch? if your Montec 85s are flying good, i really dont see a need in switching. but if you have made up your mind, i have some extra Muzzy 3 bladed 100s you can try. just send me your address in a PM and i will send 3 of them out to you. i will send along extra blades to use on them. all i ask is you send them back when your done. i use my old blades to practice with and then just put in new ones when im ready to go hunting. for me i will never shoot anything else. i have found the right arrow and broadhead combination for me to use for my setup. Muzzys are easy to change blades, no sharpening just change the old blades out with new ones and go hunt. i save my old blades so that i can practice with them. they are dependable, they dont break the bank to shoot, they are available just about everywhere and they just flat out work well. let me know if your interested. sskybnd
ive only shot 3 types of broad heads in the 20+ years of bow hunting thunder head 125's, i did use the rage, dont like them and the muzzy 100 grain, thats what i'l be using from now on, and like tony said once you find the right combination for your set up its all about shot placement than. Elk22
Muzzy and Montecs are great broadheads as long as you can remain accurate at greater distances. I like mechanicals for the flight accuracy and this Epek XC3 has been by far the most accurate broadhead that I have ever shot. When you see the design, you will understand why it is so accurate. This is the broadhead in flight, totally concealed blades, This is the broadhead on impact, total devastation, Definately works for big bears. MonsterBuck48
all this talk about the magnus stingers i just had to look them up and boy those things are aggressive. i am now thinking about switching to just to see the destruction first hand. Squirrelhunter91
The absolute best broadhead I've ever shot has been the Slick Trick 100gr Magnum. Hands down. Entry holes are awesome and blood trails are phenomenal. I just shot a buck on Sunday at 38 yards quartering towards me and man you wouldn't believe the wound channel the head left. You won't regret it, like I said buy 6 or 9 of them, that way you always have some to use if you need to send any back, you won't have to buy another broadhead as long as you live as they will replace your broadheads for free all you do is pay for the shipping to get them there...(a far cry less than dropping $30.00 or more for new broadheads just because you bent/broke/dulled a head)...doesn't matter if you shoot it into a rock, send it back and Magnus will replace it for FREE, no questions asked! You can't beat that deal!! ~ Van
