ruttinbuc
Here is a sample of what I saw today and what my trail camera saw all week. I have had some good years and some bad years, but I can quite remember such a dismal November... I heard cicada wings tonight. November 29th...cicada wings!!! The_Kat
Chin up bud...I've been taking a week off since we tagged three last week with the rifles, but I'll be back out there again with the stick n string this weekend. Your patience will pay off....keep at it.
wtnhunt
Has been a really poor November for us as well Mike. Hoping patience and persistence will eventually pay off here too. Will get a couple more chances to get out with the bow.
buckee
November has been really, really dead here too Mike, up until last Friday. It seems like a really late rut here because of all that nasty, nasty weather we had for the past 2 1/2 weeks. The bucks here still have fat on them, so you know what that means. The rut is in full gear now though. You might just be surprised like I was on Friday and Saturday. It's not over til the fat lady sings the blues. RangerClay
We just hunted for a week in my hometown. We all agreed that this was one of the strangest opening weeks ever. I checked the board at our local lucky buck contest and there isn't even half of the bucks entered that were on the board at this time last year. I have deer in the freezer but I've really worked my tail off this year.
ruttinbuc
Today was the first day of 2 day buck ML. You can shoot a buck if you have the tag and of course the antlerless. With rain and a weather front coming I set up between two big cornfields that are still standing. There is a 30 yard green strip between the two that is probably 400 yards long. My backside is a big bedding area. At 8:30 I had a cow horned spike step out of the corn at 60 yards. I darn near pulled the trigger, but decided not to waste my buck tag on a deer I passed a couple times before with the bow. That was the only deer I saw all morning. Discouraging to say the least. My frustration almost killed that deer. Glad I came to my senses. Raining bats and hogs now! Ethan Givan
Its been the same here. The weather hasnt been bad but the deer just arent around. I managed to kill a doe last week, but I have only seen 9 deer this season while hunting. This has been the worst year for seeing deer I have ever had. I still have a buck tag so Im gonna be back out after them with the bow but I havnt gotten pics of any bucks big enough to shoot since September. It aint looking so good.
