I dont know witch all i know is that they are Repulicans witch i dont trust at all. How can you!!!! [/ QUOTE ] You have raised my curiosity! How old are you? It seems by what you post that you are not very informed! I know a whole lot of democrats who belong to the NRA because they want their right to keep their guns and not have the government take them away! Maybe you should do some research as to what the organization is!

How does that square with them (actually I should say us since I'm a Life Member) being a Republican organization?

First you don't know if the NRA is a company or a political group and now you don't agree with their policies! If you are a BIG HUNTER, do you have or use any guns? If you do, maybe you should take a hard look at the policies of the NRA to keep those guns!! It seems you are talking out of both sides of your mouth on this one! Also, there isn't any way in the world he is as old as I am!! LOL!!

Having said that, I wish to inform you that I am an independant and an NRA member and while it is true that Republicans most often represent my points of view, I am capable of thinking for myself and making "informed" decisions. LifeNRA
Re: What do you think of the NRA [ QUOTE ] Life NRA It was just a question! I belive in some of the NRAs polices but some i dont! [/ QUOTE ] Well Buck, you seem to like yelling in some of your text. But like buckee said, you need to watch what you say. I guess you can tell by my nic that I am 100% in favor of what the NRA does! Yeah there are some in here that are not! But without the NRA's help you and I would not be hunting today! I feel the NRA's policies do seem somewhat strong at times. Like the machine gun ban, does everybody need one, no. But there thinking is, if you ban this gun next time they will ban more! This is what your party has been trying to do for many years, yes, there are some republicans that want gun control. Its a known fact the the democrats are more in favor of gun control than republicans. This makes me think of that picture of kerry, kennedy, feintein, and schumer! All walking out of the senate after trying to push more gun control. All having smiles on their faces. So, now let me ask you a few question. If hunting were banned tomorrow, what would you say or do? Would you think twice about what your party is doing to your sport? NRA does more than just protect your guns, they help a lot of different ways. Like I said go to their site and wander around a bit, I meant that in a positive manner! JamesVee
Re: What do you think of the NRA It's OK to ask questions about things which you know nothing about. But it's childish to make accusations and blind assumptions about programs which you know nothing about. Take the time to see what the NRA has to offer and what they have done to protect the rights of gun owners. It's pretty incredible actually. Do you have to sign up and donate today? No. But I would suggest not bashing the NRA while amongst a group of hardcore hunters, whether they are Republican or Democrat.
LifeNRA
Re: What do you think of the NRA Here is the biggest one ALMOST EVERY HUNTER NEEDED TO KNOW! I needed to know this when I was 12 in order to pass my hunter education test! NRA HUNTER'S CODE OF ETHICS I will consider myself an invited guest of the landowner, seeking his permission, and so conducting myself that I may be welcome in the future. I will obey the rules of safe gun handling and will courteously but firmly insist that others who hunt with me do the same. I will obey all game laws and regulations, and will insist that my companions do likewise. I will do my best to acquire those marksmanship and hunting skills, which insure clean, sportsmanlike kills. I will support conservation efforts, which can assure good hunting for the future generations of Americans. I will pass along to younger hunters the attitudes and skills essential to a true outdoor sportsman.

slugshooter
Re: What do you think of the NRA Here's what I don't like about the NRA, they like to lump everyone in the same category who does not believe in free gun ownership for all. All of you probably know that I do not agree with any old joe being able to set up a table at a gun show and sell to anyone without a background check, regardless of the criminals get guns legally argument, I don't feel it's right to sell a gun to someone without knowing if they are legally able to own a gun. How many murders could have been prevented if there had been a mandatory waiting period put in place long ago. Based on those statements, if I were a politican and had never voted on an anti-gun measure and me being basically a life long gun owner the NRA would most likely brand me a liberal and run my name through the mud. [ QUOTE ] This makes me think of that picture of kerry, kennedy, feintein, and schumer! All walking out of the senate after trying to push more gun control. All having smiles on their faces. [/ QUOTE ] As far as the picture mentioned, how do you know that photo was taken after they voted on gun restrictions, because the NRA told you so. And even if they had just cast a vote on gun restrictions, just because they have smiles on their faces doesn't mean they are happy about it, maybe they were laughing because Feinstein ripped a nasty fart, maybe Kerry was showing that thumbs up cause one of the Bush daughters just lifted her top in a drunken stupor. I believe that statement made by the NRA about those 4 Senators after a vote just like I believe George Bush is a sincere Godly man after calling a reporter an S.O.B. on national TV and got caught. [/ QUOTE ] No, your doing fine yourself! [ QUOTE ] As far as the picture mentioned, how do you know that photo was taken after they voted on gun restrictions, because the NRA told you so. [/ QUOTE ] Well duh!!!!! Think about it, your party has a longggggggggggggggggggggggggg standing on gun control Slug! Why else would them four be together. They certainly were not planning a card game! Be for real here. You very well may be a hunter, but as far as your party is on gun control, they want EVERY GUN THEY CAN! Including your slug-gun! Just ask one of our newest members, he happens to know first hand what its like to lose his HUNTING PRIVILEGES! So I guess, if that means I have to protect a machine gun so they wont get my deer rifle so be it! Remember this Slug, When it comes to gun control, dems will take an inch, only to try and take a yard later!!! [ QUOTE ] maybe Kerry was showing that thumbs up cause one of the Bush daughters just lifted her top in a drunken stupor [/ QUOTE ] Wow, that was classy too! That is their life not mine. Hey man the war is over! er.....sorry I meant election, get over it, time to move on! Man you dems are sore losers, kind a like eagle fans around here(here as in around me!). [ QUOTE ] just like I believe George Bush is a sincere Godly man after calling a reporter an S.O.B. on national TV and got caught. [/ QUOTE ] Again with the bashing, Slug you might be smoking something, your drifting off topic! So what if he did! Hmmmmmmm I could think of cheating on your wife, opps! slugshooter
Re: What do you think of the NRA [ QUOTE ] Well duh!!!!! Think about it, your party has a longggggggggggggggggggggggggg standing on gun control Slug! Why else would them four be together. They certainly were not planning a card game! [/ QUOTE ] So the only reason for those four Senators to be photographed together outside the Senate chambers is after they have cast a gun vote. They are probably together after every end of day recess. Maybe they were planning a card game. That was my whole point in disparaging the picture. I can find a picture of George Bush and Hillary Clinton together, put it in a magazine and claim they are having an affair, doesn't make it true, just like what the NRA says about that picture may not be true, cause we all know, the NRA wouldn't lie or bend the truth to advance their agenda, just like any other PAC wouldn't do the same. [ QUOTE ] Wow, that was classy too! That is their life not mine. Hey man the war is over! er.....sorry I meant election, get over it, time to move on! Man you dems are sore losers, kind a like eagle fans around here(here as in around me!). [/ QUOTE ] The only one who has mentioned the election is you. I didn't even gripe after the election, I dealt with it and don't remember crying about it. I was simply just trying to disparage the statement the NRA made about the picture and saying that there is no way of knowing what vote they just cast, what they were smiling about or who Kerry was throwing the thumbs up to. [ QUOTE ] Again with the bashing, Slug you might be smoking something, your drifting off topic! So what if he did! Hmmmmmmm I could think of cheating on your wife, opps! Sorry didnt mean to bring up the clinton years!!!! [/ QUOTE ] The only thing I've smoked recently is a Marlboro Light Menthol. Once again, you have taken a statement out of context as far as how I feel about the NRA and the tactics they use. But, since you bring up Clinton, Clinton never claimed to be an evangelical self righteous Christian, and yes, he did admit to the affair, he admitted smoking pot, BUT, George Bush never apologized for calling a reporter an SOB and getting caught and the only thing he admitted was doing young and stupid things when he was young and stupid. I simply compared the two together, meaning, I believe the NRA was telling the truth about that photo just like I believe George Bush is a sincere Christian person.
