IowaDeerHunter
We have a nice gun we are looking to sell since we just dont use it....it has never killed anything. It is a Remington Model 7400 semi-auto .243 rifle. Anybody know what it is worth? It is in great condition....I have found only a couple that sold on the internet. Anybody want to buy it? Jeramie
If I had the cash I would buy it. The 7400 is a good huting rifle and the .243 is a great round. I know you can typically get more for retail than you do on the internet. Ive seen those same rifles chambered in .308 and .30-06 sale for $200 on gunbroker. It seems like pawn shops ask for more than that but rarely sale them. Throw a price out there and you might get some bites.
hunterbobb
Actually on gun broker they are going for anywhere from $300.00 to $450.00. Most of them have no bids. If it has a wooden stock and your not in I big hurry to sell it I would give you $300.00 for it. :gun2:

You can list them for whatever you want but what they are selling for is something else all together. I only look at the auctions with bids. IowaDeerHunter
Ya that is the hard part about trying to find what they are worth...
IowaDeerHunter
I am really surprised what dad got out of the gun. Scheels offered $300, Cabelas $350, and the local dealer gave us $400! I was quite surprised with those numbers...
Jeramie
That REALLY surprises me too. It had to be because it was a .243 (would be my guess). Most of the ones I run across are either .270 or .30-06.
GWSmith
I have that model in .270 and I know when I bought mine(8/05) at Gander Mountain I paid above average(going by what I've seen other items they sell in other stores). The list was $499.97 on sale for $449.97. Out the door with the Nikon Scope, base, rings, covers and mounting and bore sighted...$678+tx I wanted it and was buying it without much shopping around being done. The rifle does what it's designed to do... Would I buy your rifle? No...but only because I simply have no need for one. I like the rifle and it's performance(it's very consistent). The wife wants to pick her own so buying it for her would be out of the question.
