fly
We all know about aerial view on map quest and Google earth, but finding a Topo map site has always been difficult for me. I've used some that have watermarks in them, but recently found one that does not have watermarks. http://www.digital-topo-maps.com/ Thought some members might find this useful. Mooresville Rocket
The problem with that map is that it is crap! It shows the roads around the woods and it shows the streams and it makes the game lands into a green color, but it does not show terrain, unimproved dirt roads and trails. It is of no use - if you wanted to use it to find a location in the woods. You would be just as well off to use a road map.
ruttinbuc
Thanks for the link, fly! Very detailed topo! One man's crappy map is another man's map to success. Comes down to knowing how to read it! Apparently you don't have a clue about using a topo map. There is more information about elevation change, funnels, saddles, benches, water sources, etc., than any road map will begin to tell you. Wonder if this was the post that "Broke the cammels back" and got the Mooresville boy banned? Hope he finds some peace instead of anger to fuel his rocket in the future. One mistake I just realized. There are some small watermarks in the topo map, but they are not nearly as visible as others I've seen.
