Another gift from a friend

Hey folks, in the lounge I posted about a really cool firepit that friend from Texas brought me up and gave to me to replace my old decrepit firepit. That was cool.

Now this gift is even cooler. I can cook what I get with this gift on the new firepit!

I am having a good hunting season ...gift wise :).

My neighbor from across the road at our hunting camp/country house hunts only traditional archery. A friend at work gave me a longbow he no longer uses. I knew nothing about it. I went to my neighbor across the road, he took it from me and said he will find out what kind of bow it is and make me a new flemish string. He found out it was a Martin long bow 65lbs/28" from the #'s on it.

AND...he made a new string and put beaver skin silencers on it and a new bear hair rest for the shelf.

AND...

he made me a 1/2 dozen cedar shaft arrows with shield cut barred turkey feathers and a few Zwickey broadheads , judo tips and field tips!

My neighbor Phillip...I want to thank you OHH so much for your generosity and friendship. This is really making me want to go out and hunt next year with traditional archery tackle:).

I am a lucky man with the friends I have.

Thank you Lord for everything I have. Nothing is possible without you.

That is just too cool, Anthony! Now take that longbow out and start practicing! ;) And be sure to tell Joe that he's cheatin' with that DXT and that a real man shoots traditional. :D

Dakota :)

Thanks for the comments guys:).

When I got the trad bug a few years ago I bought Joe a vintage Indian recurve bow. 40lbs/27" so he could shoot with me. He did for a while, but he committed to the Mathews. I think a bowhunter needs to hunt one way or another. I really messed up my compound shooting form when I was shooting my recurve. Snap shooting my Outback. So I stuck with the compound to put meat on the table. Now with Joe as a meat collector:D I think I can be more casual about my bowhunting and hunt the traditional way because it won't be about the meat.
