muggs
Has a bust ever pulled down 20 boards in an NBA game before? According to you guys, the answer is yes. Because ma boy Greg Oden just did last night to go along with his 13 points. Brett Favre says..."Guy's start listening to Muggsbow. The dude knows his sports." MCH
and who won the game??? Leave him alone Toddy. Even he knows that his making this post is a sure sign that deep down, he's beginning to think Oden is a bust. I mean, come on....his whole argument on the Oden/Durant subject is that numbers don't matter. He would really tear us up if we were to post up every 30 point game that Durant had during his career. Besides overcrowding the sports room, all it would do is prompt more arguments about how a big man is an integral part of any championship team. Blah, blah, blah..... Shooting guards who can score are a dime a dozen, just ask Ben Gordon. Actually, ask the Detriot Pistons, they have two SGs who can fill it up better than most...how's that working out for them? Numbers don't matter. But it's my way of getting through to the masses who lack my insight, you see? He also had four blocks. When you can controll the glass that much, as well as block 4 shots along with altering countless others, that's what you can build a champion around. The Jailblazers are going to be a force. Especially once they get Outlaw back. Edited December 2, 2009 by muggs
MCH
Numbers don't matter. But it's my way of getting through to the masses who lack my insight, you see? I know I'm repeating myself, but numbers are something that's OK to use when it helps YOU prove a point. When someone else quotes numbers, its superficial and not an indicator of anything significant. In the world of Muggsy Muggsbow, everything that comes out of your mouth or via your fingertips is pure gold. Whereas in the real world, its pure BS. :laser: Edited December 2, 2009 by MCH

muggs
Dennis Rodman Actually, that's an excellent point. He was a huge key for both the Pistons and Bulls title runs. The guys a fruit, but he's been a major part of 5 NBA Championship teams. Didn't happen by accident. Imagine if he was as good offensively as Oden!! Not that I need help making my points, but I'll always appreciate it. Just for the record here boys, I took a lot of flack when I told you Fav-rah was a jerk, and that Torri Hunter was a much better all-around center fielder than Andruw Jones. It lasted a while too, but I came out shinin'. You might want to just relax on this and let Muggsbow's insight unfold before your eyes. If you relax and just witness it, it's a beautiful thing. Oh wait, you said they didn't need one because MJ was the reason they won, now Rodman was a huge key? NO. The guy was so versatile he could defend a point guard as well as he could a center (and often did both). Not many "role players" win two NBA Defensive Player of the Year Awards, seven All-NBA Defensive Teams, grab 11 offensive rebounds in the same NBA finals series TWICE (NBA record), won 7 NBA rebounding crowns (averaged 18.7 rebounds per game), and was a starter on five Championship teams (three with the Bulls). The Bulls are the only "dynasty" that lacked a dominant big man, even though Rodman would be agured as there's for three of those titles. So, I guess if you can find the greatest of All-Time, you don't need a dominant big...otherwise, you might as well draft a dominant big if you can. Not sure when the next Jordan will be along.:boxing: Edited December 2, 2009 by muggs

It's the start of something good. When you control the glass, defend, and clog the lane, you're going to win consistently. Last I checked they're 12-8 pretty good record for such a young team. Again, it's the start of something good. Much like Oden's career is just at the start. Even though you guys with ADD already wrote him off before you could even nuke your Hungryman dinner. I'm like a slow cooker baby...brings out the TRUE flavors. Once again gentlemen, I implore your patience in this matter. Anways, if you had heart, you'd root for the Royals. Which stadium are you geographically closer to? And don't lie. PS: The Browns are in Baltimore. These are the Clowns Toddy...you know, the joke a greedy league threw on some of the best fans around? They should have just retired the colors and the name and left a rich history alone...they could have given the Clowns some polka-dotted uniforms and big red shoes, drive out a small car for the pre-game intros and we could have watched them all pile out. I don't hear you talking up the Chiefs much eihter, man? Why not? If the Cardinals go in the tank, what happens then?

Monroe City, MO to Kaufman stadium...... 193 miles 3 hours and 47 minutes or 234 miles 5 hours and 18 minutes now Monroe City, MO to Baseball Heaven (AKA Busch Stadium) 143 miles 3 hours and 2 minutes 145 miles 3 hours and 20 minutes So you tell me which stadium I am geographically closer to...... I don't hear you talking up the Chiefs much eihter, man? Why not? If the Cardinals go in the tank, what happens then? You are right I don't talk about the Chiefs or the Ram or really much at all about football....unless its to you about the Browns/Clowns or whatever else you want to call them. I am not a huge one team football fan...more of a general NFL football fan. I watch Monday night football and that is about the ONLY game a week I watch. I catch the highlights and call it good. Besides we could get a RT forum football team together and beat the Chiefs and the Rams both are TERRIBLE!!

SuperMn106
Wow, Oden has one DECENT game and Muggsy is already praising his glory. Muggsy you have to look at who he did it against. The Heat? They really have no big man who is any good. That would be like you playing against a 10 year old. Of course your gonna get a lot of rebounds. Come back and talk to me when he plays against one of the best Centers in the league.
muggs
Wow, Oden has one DECENT game and Muggsy is already praising his glory. One good game? You could argue it wasn't even his best this year, Pal. Here- Some of Oden's better games this year (btw- he was their best player all preseason too, and that includes former ROY Brandon Roy who in his own right is probably the most underrated NBA player). 14 points, 8 boards and 4 blocks in 25 minutes 14 6 and 2 in 23 minutes 18 11 and 1 in 26 minutes 16 6 and 1 in 24 minutes 16 5 and 3 in 23 minutes 24 12 and 2 in 27 minutes 18 8 and 4 in 25 minutes 13 10 and 3 in 25 minutes 13 20 and 4 in 30 minutes. That's insane production for averaging approx. 25 minutes. His inability to stay out of foul trouble has been his biggest problem, not unlike most young, physical players. Once he learns to avoid cheap fouls and can average 30+ minutes per game the game is a double-double every night and will probably average 15 15 and 5. Wake up people, don't let you're desire for me not to prove you all wrong again skew the reality of this situation.
