Newarcher
I am really surprised honestly. The guy has it all along with a beautiful wife. Really unnecessary. While it is no excuse, I can't say that I wouldn't do the same thing in his shoes. We normal guys are ugly (yeah, you/we are), are generally personality devoid, don't have any money, and have no reason for women to want to be around us except that they exhausted all other options and you were the least of all bad options. Sorry fellahs, its true. There could also be some latent personality issues from our wive's childhoods! In all seriousness, this guy and other celebrities have women throwing themselves at them daily. The first time it happens it is easy to say no. The each other time it gets harder to say no. Ultimately, they say yes for 'just one time'. Then it is over. Another way to think about it is this. He has conquered the things which you and I struggle with every day--how to pay the bills, how to advance in our careers, how we will afford college/bail money for the kids, etc. They don't have those daily dragons which have to be conquered so they go on to womanizing. Given the diseases out there, he was stupid. He could have contracted something that would have killed both he and his wife. None of what I said excuses him but I would bet that given the chance 70% of us would do just exactly the same. Disappointed for sure. Newarcher
To supplement what I was saying... I once had Thanksgiving dinner with my sister's brother in law. At the time I had no idea that he was a billionaire...he is. Imagine that...hick hunter me having dinner with a couple billionaires and a multimillionaire. The thing was, and I just realized this as I was typing, I was the only one at the table who revered God and had any interest in giving thanks. Yet I was the one with the least by polar opposites! Anyway, the billionaire in the room had it all. Home in St. Johns...oh wait--he owned the island. Largest private residence in NYC. Very pretty girlfriend who was an heir to a fortune. By worldly standards he had it all--but was Godless so he truly has nothing. Unfortunately, the guy wanted underaged asian massage girls. So he spent almost two years in jail and is no on the offender list for life. There is something about money that corrupts. I have challenged God that there isn't any amount of money he can give me that will corrupt me--I think I am grounded enough that I would do great things with it. Considering that I gave more than our lovely, wonderful messiah president and his wife in charitable giving last year I think I could hold to that. But anyway, I think there is something inside of most men and women that makes them NEED to conquer something. When you take away normal man's dragons (survival) their attention turns to illicit or risky things. Nuff said.....I just think that it is funny that Tiger's wife apparently took a Nike golf club to him. I like her style. New

KirkV
You know being married is one thing I take very serious in my life. I have been and always will be devoted and true to my wife. We are not rich, but do not hurt in life, but the thought does not cross my mind to have ann affair with another women. I am very satisied with my life the way it currently is and do not want more! My wife and I discussed a LONG time ago that if you feel the need to have sex with another do the right thing and divorce the other first. I don't know but it appears I am a dying breed of human being?

toddyboman
disappointed - yes I am. sad for his family yes I am. shocked yep! Is this going to hurt him on the golf course, popularity, or financially....NO WAY! Sadly we will ALL forget and forgive within a few months. Remember Kobe Bryant......the dude RAPED a girl......Now look at him, he is a HUGE sports figure. :bang: Its all very very sad.... I listen to some sports talk radio guys the other day say about the same things that New was saying above.....
Hoosierbuck
"cheat" and "cheater"...are those the new, softer euphamisms for being a big fat ADULTERER? That's a pretty low breed in my book, I don't care what's in their wallet or anything else. Nobody is dishonest in just one area, if you have no scruples, you will do whatever feels right at the time. I am not perfect, and I can't get to Heaven on my own, but I am not laying hands on another woman. Which sin or how bad does not matter to God, all carries the same repercussions, but I am petty so it matters to me. HB

OUTSIDER
Just remember, for every girl in this world, no matter how hot or perfect they seem, there is a man somewhere that is tired of her crap, attitude, whatever it may be, there is a man that is tired of it. I wish the media would get over it, there is more important stuff to report on, like our troops, economy, our own country, etc.
Ashley
I was surprised when I heard about this. His wife is absolutely gorgeous and they have a beautiful family. It's very sad, for sure. Cheating is definitely something that hurts,(I've had it happen to me before and it's very heart wrenching), and I have to agree with what New said. Tiger should be ashamed of himself. Gotta agree with Steve here, there is no excuse. Just because lots of folks have no morals or don't value the commitment they make does not excuse adultery. hutchies
Even though there is no excuse and he was wrong I can't figure out for the life of me figure out why in the **** that people get so into "OMG Tiger was cheating"..............There are millions of cheaters everyday but because he makes millions a year is suppposed to make him impervious to making mistakes. It has to say something for the women that he cheated with though. Tell me when a man has been out on the road for weeks and some could be model walks up to him and offers him everything he could imagine that it is all his fault and I'll call you a liar. Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan.............for that matter more celebs that I can list have cheated and will continue to because it is so easy because they have women throwing theirselves at them everday of the week. Many hoping to make it rich..................... I think Tiger handled it well. He didn't deny or try to pay anyone off. He just said Yes I did it and apologized. At least he's not doing a Michael Jackson $20 million pay off to keep some kids parents mouth shut.................but Oh I forgot we are supposed to love michael. To be honest really does not surprise me. Seems a lot of folks just don't care. Celebs with all the media attention should know they are eventually going to get caught. Does seem Tiger handled it well, always thought he was pretty intelligent, shame he screwed up. Think what some here are pointing out though is that he appeared to have everything going for him, why in the world would he go and screw that up. Who he is is the reason for the attention. Makes no difference in my life, just more crap that will be on the evening news to take attention away from the real problems in the world. bowhuntMN
What he did was definately wrong. However i liked how he feels ashamed of himself, claims that he is embarrassed and made a terrible mistake, and is now enrolling his wife and himself in couple's counseling. At least he's taking the right steps and has the right attitude about it. This does not mean i think cheating's ok if you react like this, but i believe it shows that tiger woods is a good man deep down inside who just had a period of weakness where he made some really bad choices. I forgive Tiger and hope that their family can get past it. What IS bugging me though is the way the news just barges into this famiy's personal life! How is the family supposed to get past this if they are CONSTANTLY under fire from the press?! The news needs to back out of there and find something worth reporting! (and i'm pretty sure there is stuff thats more worth the time than embarrassing this sorry man 24/7) I'm sick of the media exploiting this family and others like it and manipulating people's thoughts to agree with the thoughts of the program's managers. Agree with most of what you said except for the "fault" thing. It's definitely ALL his fault. As long as the woman didn't put a gun to his head and scream "Do it or die!"....its all his fault. I guess what I'm trying to say Hutch, is that if you're in Dallas and Paris Hilton walks up to you and says would you like to go up to my hotel room? And you say yes and then Melissa finds out........just try and tell her that it's Paris' fault just as much as it is yours. Just because you didn't do the asking, doesn't mean the consenting was any less of a sin.
