Ethan Givan
I will give mine a 4. Havnt seen many deer this season at all. No shooter bucks. I did manage to get me a doe...and I passed on a few small does and button bucks. Just didnt see the bucks around this year, but the season aint over yet. Diamond Archer 01
I would give my season so far an 8. I saw a ton of deer during bow season. I got a shot at a spike but shot him a little high and never found him. During gun season i saw a few deer and killed a doe which was my first deer ever. So my season has been pretty good so far. The Kid
shot a coyote with my bow and a big nine couldn't ask for anything else
cb11
I'd say a solid 9 for me. My bowseason was a bust, sort of. I saw deer at every set I hunted but only got to hunt three times before my twins were born early. Took a management buck on one of the two days I was able to black powder hunt and then shot my big 8pt piebald (see other post) on opening day of rifle season. Looking forward to some nice late season bowhunting.
Bowtech_archer07
I'm gonna have to say about a 3. I took 2 does early bow season but after that have not seen much action. Spent almost 20 hours on stand during our 1st shotgun season with only 11 deer sightings. Just have not seen much movement, although I have seen 2 shooter bucks this year, only 1 on stand. I hope my luck changes during this weekend, our 2nd shotgun season as we need venison and I just hope to see deer.
Tecumseh
I'd rate my season so far as good I've taken two does with a bow, shot a nice 10 pt in Georgia with my 280, I passed up several deer this week during Ohio's gun season trying to fill my buck tag,but I still have an extra weekend of gun plus muzzleloader season and the rest of archery season to connect with a nice buck. bloodtrails
Mine was a 10. I killed a nice whitetail this year and I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to do so. :cool2:
dbHunterNY
This season I got my biggest to date. However, the potential for shooting a much bigger one was there, where I was. Back home it went ok got the number two buck on my list, but he was pretty broken up. So, my season went well, but there was a bit of room to do better. The season is not over yet though! Where I'm hunting is making it a little hard to pattern the deer in late season, but we'll see.
NBomb500
I would have to agree with my other fellow montanan' Coles. Just not as many quality bucks around. But it was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I'd say a 2 on deer numbers and a 6 on overall even though we did see a couple monster bucks. redkneck
It's really too early to rate the season here in MS. We are just now approaching the pre-rut here. So far though it's been pretty good. In a nutshell...I can't rate MS yet I agree. Although i did rate it, since you said "so far". Since I took a 3.5 y/o 8 on opening morning, I cant complain. Moon's all messed up right now, ask this again in 3 more weeks and I promise I'll have a different answer. Rut is about to pick up fast here. Muleyman
I would rate mine as a 10 because this is my first year of hunting and I got my first deer EVER and it was a muley doe with my bow and I got it at 42 yards and I got a 5x4 whitetail buck with rifle at about 125 yards and it was my first buck EVER. So I tagged out. To me I couldn't be happier with my year.
Ozarkgal
mine has to be a 10, I got my first buck this year.
hunterbobb
Guess I would give it a 6. I saw a lot of deer early in the season when the acorns where dropping off the trees. I didn't see anything big enough to shoot and once the acorns were gone the deer seemed to all disapeer into the corn. I went down to Texas to hunt with my brother and saw a couple hundred deer but once again nothing big enough to shoot. I'm not done yet, I still have muzzelloader season and late bow season so the score could go up. :gun2:
camoman1
By my standards, my season has been about a 9. I got to properly break in the Alphamax on a nice buck thats at the taxidermist and I have some venison in the freezer....I cant ask for much more. BEEF
Im going with a 9 . The only problem i had was the corn getting out . That was taken care of the first week of November and after that it was great. Nice 147 in 8pt going on the wall ,taken with my bow a couple of does taken with my bow . Then came gun season, opening day was one of the most exciting i can ever remember had deer everywere.Took a couple nice does one weighing field dressed 140lbs . Then this past saturday my daughter went on her first hunt with me and in the evening sit she took a doe with the muzzeloader . She droped it in her tracks at 75 yards and i was on cloud 9. Couldnt have been more proud and happy . Thank you all for giving me the chance to hunt live the way i want too. Maybe i should have rated my year a 10 ! fly
I selected good even though I know a lot of hunters have not been seeing as much as I have hunting the same areas. I think I've been pretty lucky this year. I've only seen one shooter buck and was able to stick him (looked like a great shot) but never found him????? That was a season downer, but has nothing to do with seeing deer. I've seen more deer this year than last year and have been using several of my tags. I'd rate this year a 7 out of ten (so far). One more sighting of a mature buck will up it to an 8 and if I get him to within 30 yards a 10.
sskybnd
i would rate mine as a 10, ive killed 2 lopes and three white tails, button buck, doe and an 8 point, still have a doe tag left, and frezzer is full.
Jorden
You dont have "sucked" as an option, so poor is all I can vote for Northern Wis. Same here. Can my rating be negative? Cause that is pretty much how the season went. I saw less than 10 deer all year. This is the most rutting activity I have seen and saw two shooter bucks but never for more than a few seconds so I could never get a shot. Maybe next year...
layin on the smackdown
I don't know, its hard to say...Around home, i saw a lot of deer, and a lot of the same deer over and over. I couldn't begin to guess how many immature bucks i saw...actually thats all i saw the first 3 weeks of the season. i still have yet to lay eyes on a true shooter - and with a bunch of corn up around me even now, i don't think it is going to happen. I drilled a doe in late october, smoked a 10 ptr in november, and doubled up on does on november 15th. I saw a ton of deer on my trip down south, but after the 17th or so, i haven't seen crap. Gun season were super slow due to all the corn around me being up... Having the opportunity to hunt makes my season a 10...in terms of seeing big mature bucks, it gets a 0...and in terms of harvesting and seeing deer, i'd give it a 6. Still about a month to go, but my hopes of tagging another IL giant are pretty much out the window.
