Why do you love hunting, and what does it all mean to you ?

For me I would some day like to shoot a really nice buck that I can put up on the wall. However, there are a lot of other reasons I hunt. Just being out in the woods help me put my problems behind me. I all so really enjoy the time shared with friends during the hunt. Finally having new hunting stories to tell during the year helps keep me going through the slow times of the year.

Great video Steve. How come I don't see you on t.v.????

The reason I hunt is because I love spending time in the outdoors. To me it is not all about shooting a deer, this year I was fortunate enough to tag out. Every thing you see and encounter makes it so exciting. When I see a big old mature buck with it's head down chasin a doe, that gets my heart racin. I shot my first deer ever this year and it was no doubt the most exciting moment in my life. I got my first buck ever and it was amazing. When I have a deer at full draw that is the BEST feeling in the world. I wait all year for that one moment and it is that one shot that counts. That is why I hunt!!

Really cool video, Steve. I hunt for a lot of reasons, most of them having nothing to do with harvesting an animal. I hunt mainly for the experience and the chance to get out into nature with friends and especially family. To me there is nothing better than the day before hunting season when everyone is sharing stories about big bucks they were lucky enough to take or the one that got away. Being in nature and seeing and experiencing things that people who don't hunt would never get to experience is why I hunt. Although I enjoy just being out in the woods or in the field, I also love the feeling of watching deer come within bow range and not knowing that you exist, and if you are lucky enough to harvest an animal, there is no better feeling. That is why I hunt.

Hunting goes way beyond bucks and does for me. If I see deer, great. If it's a buck, even better. And I'd love to shoot a booner, but that doesn't matter in the least to me. Spending time enjoying God's creations is a spiritual thing for me. I probably miss seeing a lot of deer due to prayer, reading (yes, I take self improvement books to the stand with me), or just closing my eyes and listening.

Now that I'm taking my 5 year old daughter, I get to start all over again by teaching her to appreciate the opportunity to be out there among it all. The excitement I see in her reminds me of the excitement I first felt. It truly is a blessing from God!

To me it is about having fun in the outdoors. I love to just do some walking and take in the scenery and enjoy watching the wildlife. Hunting takes away all my stressfull thoughts and put me in an entire different world, the one where I belong and fit in. When I am out hunting it is my true self that people see, and that is how I like to be known. Hunting season is something that I look forward to from the day the season ends. Of course it is awesome to shoot an animal, especially with a bow...read my signature. Bowhunting also makes the hunting experience ten times funner.

Will have to come back and watch your video later when I have a bit more time Steve, but this is a good post.

Been tough hunting here this year, and have to admit I have been pretty down about it. Think I probably have taken for granted some of the things about hunting that past years I really have enjoyed, really not sure why but seems everything in the woods here has been slow, including things we normally see plenty of. Only seeing a few ducks, very few squirrels, the woods just have not seemed as "alive" as normal.

Hunting is about what we experience and that is what keeps us going back, at least it is for me. I love that I can get away where I can be entertained by what God has given us to watch and be able to appreciate those things. So much to take in and seems almost every year I can say I saw something I had never seen before. Deer activity is just part of the deer hunting, that part here this year is seriously lacking. When the animals are cooperating and they put on a good show for you and feeling the adrenaline is something that just compares to nothing else, and then sharing that with your kid is even more special. So many reasons to keep going back in anticipation of what you might see.
