tezz32
me and a friend are trying to plan a antelope hunt in wyoming for 2010 and we are total newbies to out west hunting. we are planing on doing everything ourselfs so we were wondering what units are close to 100% draw and have alot of public land? we will also most likely be camping so is that ok on public land? we don't need giant's just average bucks would be great so we dont need secret spots or anthing like that just advice. thanks tyler
texastrophies
Here are a couple of links that you might find very helpful. The first one if you scroll down through it there is a table that gives you the different areas and the available public land in the unit and also the chances of taking a mature animal. The second link will take you to a website that has the drawing odds for the last few years so after you find an area you can check the odds of drawing. The third link will take you to the 2010 nonresident application booklet. This will have a map with the locations of the units in it, also. Hope this helps you some. If you have any more questions just post up. http://gf.state.wy.us/downloads/pdf/2008WyomingHuntingGuide.pdf http://gf.state.wy.us/wildlife/hunting/stats/demandpdf/index.asp http://gf.state.wy.us/wildlife/hunting/NonResident/index.asp
stevebeilgard
i hunt almost all private land. some ranchers charge $100.00 up to $500.00, but your success ratio is very much better. if you need help finding a rancher who lets you hunt try the chamber of commerce in the town closest to where you want to hunt, or the game warden. also, 51% of wyoming is public land.
