I run a 60gig portable drive, USB. It is as old as dirt and has a lot of important information on it but still works good. So I decided to buy a backup. Walmart had a Western Digital, 320gb, usb drive for $35 (or something like that) on black friday. I picked one up to back up all of the information I have on my antique drive.

My PC has a partitioned hard drive. It uses both C&D. My firelite (portable) uses F. Ive had a problem with Windows trying to re-use the same drive letter so I typically gro through computer manager/ Disk Management/ and then change the drive letter.

However, the problem im having is that this new Western Digital isnt even showing up on my machine. The USB light is on so im guessing it is working but im not 100% sure because I cant seem to find it?!

any thoughts? My main IT guy is out on vacation today.
