WaCoyote
Well I did it! I gave up the smokes and have conquered the painful part of the process. Pert much a done deal now. I spent about $7.00 per day on the nasty things, so to reward myself I'm going to by a new pistola using the money I saved. Don't want a revolver so exclude them. Aleady have 2, don't need another. Has to be full size and no plastic allowed. Not that it's bad, But this gun is going to be metal. Also has to be .40 or larger. I want a semiauto. What appeals to me is the beretta (M92 ?) the us govt type. In 40 s&w. Or almost any kimber 1911. Love the looks of the cz75 ? Like the EAA witness but it's so cheap I wonder if it's a piece of SH T. Do you knowif it's any good.? I like the 10mm. This is your chance to tell me what to buy. So have at it. Please don't debate the goods and bads of plastic. I'm on both sides but don't want polymer this go around.
hangunnr
Re: want a new pistol... help I too am thinking of adding a new handgun to the collection. I haven't had a new carry piece for several years so it's about time. I'm leaning towards a STI LS in .40S&W. This little gem has a msrp of around $800. hangunnr

Orion_70
Re: want a new pistol... help Well, if you haven't looked at a Sig, check them out. About the same price as a kimber. Everyone I know that gets their hands on one loves them. I like the p220 myself
Guest ronin
Re: want a new pistol... help I would recommend that you check out this site, http://www.gun-tests.com/ and order some back issues with guns that interest you. These guys seem to run some pretty painful test on various MFR's then compare them to each other. Some real interesting results, too! I really like their opinions and they don't seem to be in anyones pocket. I like all the guns you mentioned....even the EEA seemed to be well made when I looked at them. I finally settled on Para Ordnance, though. I love the LDA action...real sweet trigger....and the guns are extremely well built. njbowhntr
Re: want a new pistol... help I have just purchased a Kimber Tactical Pro II. So far I have put about 200 rounds through it. I am in love. I have only had 2 Fail to Feeds, bullet lined up but slide did not close all the way. Broke the gun down for a quick clean and away I went. I shot 14 rounds at 25 yards putting all in center mass of the FBI silhoutte target. Not too bad for right out of the box. Next time I go to the range I will take some pics to post. WaCoyote
Re: want a new pistol... help well it's been a month now and still not smoking. I'm leaning towards the CZ. I actually already get Gun Tests, it's really great. It's amazing how biased the G&A type magazines are. I love them, but they are definately selling something. I don't think I've ever read anything negative about any gun in G&A or rifleshooter, or one of those type of mags. I think that a lot of turkey hunters would be suprised to see the poor reviews some "turkey" guns got. I'll post it when I buy it. Thanks again.
