You plan on hitting St Clair this year? I havent been out there yet but they're hitting the canals pretty good. Wont be long before the ice is really good.

As a matter of fact, I recently found out that my wife has a great aunt who lives on the lake. So I have private access and a parking spot so I think we're planning a trip. Not sure exactly when though.

How far out do you have to go for walleye?

Is it safe for quads? A lot of current underneath the ice?

The only place that I hear of people ever catching eyes on LSC is at a place called Gino's (a restaurant). And from what I hear you have to go out pretty far (well over a mile and over a pressure crack or two). Most of the spots I fish are 12ft and less. Thats just how LSC is. Most people target perch. Alot of sight fishing. If you want to fish eyes you will have to hit Brest Bay on Lake Erie or go up to Saginaw Bay. Before you go check out michigan-sportsman.com for reports. Find out on a map exactly where your wifes aunt lives and you can look at a map on that site. There is a name for all the access spots on the lake. (S.A.N.G, Gino's, Cotton rd, The Raft, Metro, Crocker, The Library, etc). And of course you can PM me and I will try to stir you in the right direction.

No quads yet but I have taken mine out there many times. You must have a trail permit, I think its $15, and you must wear a helmet.
