Griz
Well folks as yall no I was asked to be part of something very special and that was to take some kids hunting that has some form of cancer or birth defect. I was really excited about it and really couldn't wait for the day to get here Well on Dec. 5th Sat. Morning at 5:30am I had 2 very excited young men show up here ready to Hunt... It was 17 degrees that morning but they were ready to go... The Sat. Morning Hunt was real slow and not a whole lot of action was going on... Except for poor Bailey...Seems that Buck Fever hit him and he missed and big ole Doe...Not once but twice...But he was a real champ about it and told me that I'll get her this evening... We all hunted up till 10:30am. Everyone left. The Kids were in High Sprits but very tired and was really looking forward to the evening Hunt... At 3pm. everyone showed back up and was ready to At 5:30 I get a call sayin' that Bailey got a small Doe... I gave word that I was on my way there... Once I reached where they were at I saw that the young man was very excited. We High Fived and right away we got some field pics... This is 15 yr. old Bailey and his first Deer... After some more High Fives and Lot's of excitement we started to head back to the others. When I pulled up I was totally surprised. Only to find out that 16yr. old Destin took a real nice Hog... Needless to say the High Fives started all over again. Then it was time for field Pics once again... Here's a pic of Destin with his Hog... After we got everything field dressed we loaded up and headed to there camp for one fantastic meal and a ton of door prizes along with more pics of some proud Hunters... I tell ya what folks...Once you spend some time with some of these kids and to here the story about them. I don't care who you are...It will down right put a lump in your throat and leave you speechless... It's really heartbreaking... We all had a great time and My heart, thoughts and preyers goes out to each and everyone one of them... They are all real Troopers... If you ever have a chance to do something like this. You won't regret it... Griz... Edited December 7, 2009 by Griz
