mathews4life
Do any of yall put vaseline on the backs of ur decoys to give them that extra little shine. It makes the water bead up on them like it would do on a live duck. Just a little tip i use, seems to maybe give me a little edge!!

Guest CBU93
Re: Decoy Question Tough to do on a set field spread, I would think...probably work better on quick mobile set up and few dekes, but I bet it would work pretty darn good. clayman
Re: Decoy Question Duckdog, I like your idea better than smearing vaseline all over my dekes. I can just imagine how much dust and cattail fluff, and who-knows-what will get stuck to the vaseline either from a light breeze or from road dust when you toss your decoy bag in the back of the truck for the drive in or out. You'd have to clean your decoys after every hunt and then reapply the vaseline each time you go out. No thanks.
mathews4life
Re: Decoy Question The dust is going to stick to that tire stuff also clayman. There's always a con to every pro. It was just a tip.
Muff
Re: Decoy Question I thought shine on your decoys was a bad thing???? I have never done that...and do not think i will try it.
too_pointer
Re: Decoy Question I always thought like Muff, tried my best to get rid of shine. I'm certainly not saying you are wrong, just never tried it. I know when my dekes got ice on them, they didn't seem as effective. too_pointer
