Tominator
Ohio's gun season came and went and I didn't see anyone hunting around my house this year. Don't know why. Weather was decent (except for Wednesday), deer numbers are probably about the same. Any thoughts from any of the other Ohioans?
ksmith
I hunted all week and seen very few hunters out and very few deer as well. The farms that i hunt i usually see a couple real nice bucks every year but didnt see one shooter buck all week. I have had a very dissapointing season so far. Hopefully ill be able to get out with my bow and get a shot on a nice one or atleast a big fat doe for some meat. Good luck!!
wtnhunt
Wish the same were true here Chris, our first gun season was anything but quiet. Seems like every morning I went out during our gun season we had the same thing happen time after time almost every morning.
Nut
One day I had it bad here with someone on neighbors land. Luckily I stopped them from crossing over when I heard a shot down below by the field. 3 pumpkins were by the fence. They turned away. Had son check it out and he said he did not see dead deer or blood. But I was amazed yesterday when I did not hear a single shot. Except for that one day it was below normal. JoshM
I was thinking the same thing! I hunt up near Mt.Liberty on way towards Mt.Vernon and 3-4 years ago it sounded like a warzone, every woods i drove by i would see orange. The past 2 years its been the complete opposite.... That's cuz my wife is taking all them out with her vehicle. She hit a big doe just west of Gilbert road last week.

Ohiobucks
I think word got out that you were killing anything that moves in your neck of the woods over the past few years and they thought, "What's the point of hunting County Line Road, there are no deer over there...." Big.... and little....
muggs
Chris if you want some shots at teeny tiny basket-racked 6's, I can get you on Lost Nation golf course next season. I had one eat an apple slice out of my hand on the 4th hole last year. Easy pickens. Anyhow...I saw guys opening day, then I didn't get back out until Sat and Sun. Heard shots, didn't see anyone. I thought the same thing. Pretty strange.

Dawg
Been the same way down here in TX too. I heard several shots on opening day of gun season. By the next weekend it was quiet. One of the meat markets down south of us about 20 miles said that opening day this year was the slowest one they've ever had as far as deer processing goes.
