KirkV
Well we looked everywhere and at everything and we have determined I came up with a big goose egg! We found no evidence that I hit that deer at all. There was no hair at the shot site or any blood anywhere. Even with a gut shot there should be some sign of a hit and I mean there was none. I am actually quite relieved that I did not wound the buck. He is still out there and roaming the grounds. It was very odd behavior he showed after the shot though. Almost as if the shot never happened at all. We searched every bit of the property we have access to and did not cross any fences to the bordering properties and found NOTHING. Whew happy but depressed! Later tired Kirk.
Diamond Archer 01
I am sorry that you missed a buck but at least you didn't wound him and he is still out there somewhere. Hopefully you get a second chance at that buck.
Turkeygirl
Maybe he's been shot and missed at before...may not have realised where the shot came from exactly...Go look for his sheds in a couple months!
ruttinbuc
I am glad you have closure on this buck, Kirk! Better knowing that you missed altogether even though you were hoping for a better outcome.
buckee
Well, a clean miss is better than a wounded no-show.
HoosierDaddy28
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but if you shoot at deer with these encore's they don't get as spooky as if you are shooting a shotgun. At least that has been our experience.
toddyboman
Sucks that you missed.....but great that you didn't wound him......hopefully he will be around and bigger for you next year!!!
wtnhunt
Just went back and read your other post, sure sounded like you hit him. Too bad, but a clean miss is much better than a wounded lost deer. Like Todd said, hopefully you catch up with him again in the future.
