mikewink
St. Martin’s Island lies south of Michigan's Upper Pennisula's infamous Garden Peninsula. The island is privately owned. As firearm deer season began, Conservations Officer's got a tip of shenangans galore on the island. Ergo, COs boated out to the island on November 19 and lo and behold found all sorts of violations. The photo shows 31 bucks and 9 does on the pole. The smallest buck is a 7-point. Parts of approximately 10 more deer, antlers and heads, etc, were scattered on the ground around camp, these a mixture of smaller bucks and does. 10 of the deer had no tags at all. Another 10 had wife/girlfriend/significant others’ tags. The investigation continues.:angry:These guys should loose every thing!!!!

layin on the smackdown
Wow!!! I guess i will never understand the thought process behind individuals such as these...What is the matter with some people? Further more, what are they planning on doing with all those deer? I really don't know what else to say...thats a sad sad deal there...unreal.

Adjam5
Hang 'em high...these folks should not be able to own a gun or hunt again in their lives.
Prairiepredator
:jaw::jaw: That is just unbelievable!!! They definately should not be allowed to hunt, own a gun, or anything related for the rest of their lives...they might as well be thrown in jail and slapped with a huge fine too. Unfortunately the justice system does not always work that way.
DropTine49
That looks like the pictures you see from back as far as the settlement of the United States, and from a time period that made selling wildlife in many parts of the country illegal. What a shame.
buckee
WOW..That not hunting. That's just an outdoor slaughterhouse.
mesick429
what you guys are failing to understand about this completely bs story circulating the internet is that this island is privately owned by the ODAWA Indian Tribe and is deemed reservation. Thus they dont even need tags for any of these deer.

Missilelock
wow- those folks are sure getting slammed by you all without very much information, & none of you know if the info you have is even true. there could be a hundred hunters in that camp for all you know & the island could be grossly overpopulated....maybe some fact finding is in order.
HoosierDaddy28
I agree, who knows what the facts are. People are quick to assign blame, and who knows it might have been two people who killed those deer. If it is I am sure the DNR will take care of it. I guess I am having a hard time getting indignant when there are no facts.
Missionman
Its best to get all the info before judging, but even if there are only a few hunters chances are since its privately owned, they will have the money and connections to where nothing will happen to them anyway. Its sad though, there could be some monster bucks if given time to grow...........
