Jeramie
My wife wants a Wii (yes, I said my wife). Her birthday is New Years day so im going to surprise her with the Wii. However, ive never played one so I have no idea what bundles are the best?! There are several on Walmart.com and i havent seen anything that beats them but what bundle would be the best? She wants family type games so we can play together. Err go, do I buy the one with the extra controller? How important (nice) are the charging mats? Input please! I know nothing about the Wii. MCH
Just a regular bundle will work Jeremy. We've got the Wii along with the Wii fit board. I'd rather play the Xbox 360 but the wife and kids love the Wii. My favorite games with the Wii are the Mario ones. The new SuperMario game should be great, but I have to wait until the boy opens up his christmas presents before I can play.:D
dbHunterNY
If you want to play together then you'll want two remotes and nunchucks to play all of the Wii Sports games that come with it. I'd recommend getting the charging station or at least rechargable batteries and charger. Also, maybe down the road a little the Wii Resort Sports game is cool. It does actually have target archery with a recurve as one of the games. It comes with one Wii Motion Plus accessory for the remote. I'd get another Separate Motion Plus for the other remote as well. You need two Motion Plus attachments for two people to play each other in Resort Sports games. I've also found they help you play other games that you may get later (Call of Duty series). I would not get the Fit balance board unless you really think you want it. It's a lot of money that you'll only use to play some games. Also when going to purchase games look at video gaming stores in the mall first. Many times they'll have "gamers" beat the game eary, return it, and then you buy a new used game (that's guaranteed to work) for a discounted price. Same applies to accessories as well. Hope that helps.
jm23494
I would definatley get at least two controllers. Most of the games are at least two player with some that are up to 4. I would definatley recommend Mario Kart, the new Super Mario Brothers and Mario Party and the Wii Sports for family games. It was quite comical listening to my fiance cursing at Mario characters that were beating her last night when she was playing Mario Party. csimon
as far as the bundles im not sure. i would say get enough controllers for everyone in your house to be able to play.
HUNTINGMAN
I find the wii being a more family oriented game system. We bought the new super Mario bros for our kids for christmas but couldn't wait any longer and opened it last night. It's just like the first one that came out on the first nintendo, the whole family had a ball. I to recomend getting two controlers for it is more fun than playing with one. I play it some but mostly play my ps3.
c_lou
2 words - Mario Kart. I would skip the charging station and buy yourself some rechargable batties and a charger. Most definatly get the extra controller and another Nunchuk. While I agree that the graphics can't compare the the PS3 or 360, the games are a hoot to play. RangerClay
Wally world is having a sale on them right now I believe. $50 off.
Jeramie
You are correct, you get a $50 gift card when you pay $200 for the unit. That sounds great but I would still have to buy the second control, etc. and it ends up not being so great.

So in a sense you get it for free!
Jeramie
True.... true. However, I feel there probably should be a 30 - day lapse before I start buying hunting games for myself. Otherwise my smarter half may believe the Wii is not in fact for her birthday.... rather my enertainment.
csimon
so that card can be used in 30 days to buy hunting games. problem solved

TreeStandBowHunter
To each is own ... but ... I was not impressed with the Wii. The graphics suck and the graphics are no where compared to Xbox-360 or the PS3 graphics. Did I metion the graphics suck, lol? HOWEVER, I must admit that some of the games are fun, like bowling. Did I say bowling already, lol? Well, that's the only game "I" liked out of all the games that we had and I must say, it was addicting and fun for like...two weeks, lol. But like I said, to each is own but I myself was not impressed at all with the Wii. If I could take it back and get my money back, I would. HOWEVER, the GOOD thing with the Wii is that they have more "children" friendly games though compared to PS3 or Xbox-360 where most of the games are rated for "T" or "M". The Wii (probably because it's Nintendo), has more games for kids than any of the other ones. Just my opinion though. Jeramie
Ran to Walmart yesterday and picked up the one with the $50 gift card. They hand the card to you right then! I figured you would have to wait for it to show up in the mail! If youre looking for one its a pretty good deal, you can get one for $150 basically. Im going online today to get an additional remote and such for it. Ill also hit Best Buy and Wally world next week and pick up a few games... Thanks for the input gang.
