IowaDeerHunter
I am looking to get an electronic call to use for coyotes. Seen this one at Cabelas....anyone have any experience with it or can you recommend a good one (like to stay under $100). http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0039508228110a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=Johnny+Stewart&sort=all&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-
coles
thats probably about the best you can get for the money. never used one. the only electronic call ive ever used was a huge bulky tape player call. had to unroll the wire for the speaker and flip tapes over at the end and all that jazz. not much fun to use and sucked to carry around. probably weighed at least 10lbs. Foxpro is the best money can buy but you gotta have alot of money to buy it lol. I have a Foxpro Jack-in-the-box and it is pretty handy. Comes with two different wobbler decoys and it even makes a squeak. Plan on using it alot more this year.

BUT. You have to buy the chips at $20.00 each. The chips have the same sounds on several chips. So if you want a new sound you still have to buy the chip for $20.00 and some of the other sounds will be on chips you already own. Then..... will you be able to find new chips? It's an ok caller. I called in quite a few coyotes with it but the chips are a rip off. You don't really end up saving that much. The cord is a complete P I T A. The coyote howls are horrible. My advice to you is to look at Foxpro. They have cheaper models to choose from. If you can add or delete sounds on the cheaper models then your way ahead of the game. At least visit there site and poke around a bit. I bit the bullet and bought an FX3. It's heads and shoulders above a JS. I've had it now for 3-4 years and have never missed the JS. Normally I don't respond to these types of threads but decided to in this case. There are better calls to be had. There are no great calls to be had in the $100.00 rande. Don't forget, you'll be well above the $100.00 range by the time you buy all of the sounds. Good luck.
WaCoyote
Looks like the Spitfire would be the best choice. Thats absolutely the way I'd go over the JS. Maybe Santa will treat you right.

IowaDeerHunter
I think that will be the one I go with! Thanks WaCoyote!!!!
WaCoyote
You got it. FYI, I bought some new sounds today and the files didn't download. The guys in customer service re-sent them and walked me through the whole process. Worked out great. They are really very easy to work with. For me to call customer service for anything is like pulling teeth but these guys are just great. If you do buy one pm me if you decide to get different sounds. There are some to stay away from. The sound quality is pretty bad. I'll let you know which ones I'm talking about. GET COYOTE PUP DISTRESS!!!!!!!

mehunter
I would consider making your own. Sound and sequences can be down loaded for free, and you will spend less than $100.00.
