TN Bucknasty
What do you think about this little guy of mine? I'm finally got a cape and I'm going to mount it and hang it in my classroom. I had the rack hanging up in my room earlier in the year. I've told the kids that I shot it in my yard, it attacked me and I beat it to death, and anything else absurd that you can think of.
hoosierhunter
Howd you come across that rack? At least I'm assuming you didn't shoot him if you don't have his cape.........

At least I'm assuming you didn't shoot him if you don't have his cape......... That's my bowkill. :angel2: Nah, I actually made it out of a bunch of small racks in the taxidermy shop. I'm going to finish staining it this week. That ought to give those rowdy younguns something to stare at instead of throwing paper wads and stuff. buckee
A cool piece of artwork for sure. How did you join all the different pieces together? That looks like a cool artwork project.

TN Bucknasty
A cool piece of artwork for sure. How did you join all the different pieces together? That looks like a cool artwork project. I used a hot glue gun to stick the extra points on there, the I use a two part epoxy which I use for artificial European mounts. The drawback is that it's really hard to stain. I took those pics when I was about half way through the process so if you look closely, you can see a joint or two. By the time I'm done staining, sanding, and polishing, the joints will disappear.
redkneck
I should send that 8pt I killed on opening day and let you "enhance" it, lol. Very cool indeed. I thought the shape looked odd the way the beams came out, but sure looks legit in the photo. Good work!

I thought the shape looked odd the way the beams came out, but sure looks legit in the photo. Good work! I repair a lot of broken tines for people in the shop. Personally, I like to leave mine how I killed them, but to each his own. This is the first time I've chopped one up and gone this far with it. I turned it from a 70 inch 8 pointer into a 143 inch 20 pointer.
