willis smith
this weekend I am gonna take my boat out and see if i can get a few ringnecks. I am putting out decoys but I was wondering will the ducks see me and not come in range if i dont have my boat camoflauged all the way? I am 15 and do not have enough money to buy more camo burlap but have one 54" by 12 foot roll of burlap for a 14 foot boat. If i try to cover it in palm fronds will that be good enough. camoman1
I would just go out and see what happens, you cant shoot any if you dont try lol.. Diving ducks(ringnecks, bluebills, redheads etc.) for the most part fly pretty low to the water. The exception would be ringnecks if they are using a smaller pond. As long as you have the front of your boat covered well you should be fine. You may also want to see if you can get your boat into some natural cover, like a weed bed. Put some natural vegetation on the boat and you should be good to go. Good Luck!! Post some pics if you get any!
csimon
should be ok with that just make sure you have everything shiny covered by the camo or natural cover.
layin on the smackdown
Ya, i agree with the rest...Divers aren't exactly the smartest ducks, nothing like a decoying mallard. As long as you have white in your spread, they should swing you a time or two for a shot. Good luck!
