rbduck
Sloww Cooker Goose A loaf of French garlic bread goes good with this Ingredients 1 14 oz can stewed tomatoes 1 green pepper 1 large pkg broad noodles 2 large white onions 2 medium sized carrots 1 red pepper 2 stalks of celery 4 whole goose breasts( 2 birds), cubed Instructions Peel and slice onions, then simmer covered for 1 hour or until caramelized Peel and cut all vegetables into 2' matchstick sized pieces Cube the breast meat Dump stewed tomatoes into slow cooker, add mixed vegetables, goose cubes, caramelized onions. Cook on low heat for approx. 12 hours. Prepare broad noodles as directed on pkg. When all is ready, mix together 2 tbsp flour and 1 cup water to form a paste. Slowly add to goose mixture to make a thick gravy(stir well). Divide noodles onto 4 plates, cover with goose mixture and serve with garlic bread. I find a nice light ice cold Lager goes well with this dish. Enjoy! This recipe can be prepared the night before and kept in fridge overnight. Just add all ingredients to slowcooker in the morning, turn it on low and it should be ready for you when you come home from work. clayman
Re: Need a good goose recipe One of my favorites: Clay's Gourmet CrockPot Goose Breast meat from one or two geese 16 oz fresh mushrooms sliced 1 medium (3") onion diced 4 stalks of celery diced 1-4 diced Hungarian Yellow peppers (OPTIONAL - these babies are HOT) 1 tbs salt 1 tsp black pepper 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 of above soup can milk cut breasts into thirds, rinse and pat dry. Place on bottom of crockpot. Mix all other ingredients in large bowl then pour over meat in crock pot. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Serve over egg noodles or potatoes. The hungarian peppers are completely optional. I like them, but there too hot for my kids so I haven't added them when the kids are eating it. I've used 4 peppers and I've used one pepper. 4 is bout the max anyone can stand.
Guest goose21
Re: Need a good goose recipe The best goose recipe i have is this: 1st take the goose breasts and slice them thinly Next take a bottle of Lawry's Mesquite marinade and let it marinade at least 45 minutes then take them out and wrap bacon around them using a toothpick to keep the bacon on. Now liberally coat each side of the goose with Mrs.'s Dash mesquite seasoning. Now just grill it This is the best goose ive ever had and doesnt give u a real gamy taste just remember to saok the goose on slat water in the frigeratore the night before u plan to do this so it gets all the blood out
