Why do threads have to be locked when things start to get good?

Is there not a little arguing and opinion postings allowed anymore around here?

There were no jabs at individuals cutting them down or degrading them. Just facts stating the obvious.

And no, forum people, I will not post a link to the thread, search around if you want to see it.

I am just curious about the "rules" on posting opinions here on realtree these days and the reasoning for locking threads.

Guess I am lost here, where was this thread locked? You are accusing mods.

Without having seen the thread in question gonna kinda go out on a limb here and say that if a thread was locked the mod who locked it would have had good reason.

Hmmm.....good point.

It is "Closed", I am assuming that means no more posting in it and a Mod closed it. I am not sure how the Mod powers work around here? Can a individual forum member close their own thread or only a mod? I am not trying to sound like a smartbutt, I just really dont have any idea how that works. And what is the difference between "closed" and "locked"? or is their any difference?

I understand that mods need to keep the forums "clean" but the thread was not really going anywhere to keep it "unclean".

Without knowing what thread or which mod closed it really cannot argue a reason. No members cannot lock/close threads, however they can ask a mod to close a thread for them and that happens. No difference in locked or closed.

Mods do not lock threads for no reason.

:p

Honestly, I think the deer carnage thread wasn't out of line, but I guess if someone wants it closed, it's ok. If you're going to get tossed out Ben, then go out with guns blazing, not like this in some lame thread that's almost drifted to page two. :D

I don't think so either. It was just getting good when he posted his last post which pretty much called himself out on assuming wrongly. I wanted to keep posting.

By the way, anybody know the regs on tagging a deer in Michigan?

I didn't see any tags in other pictures posted.

Don't worry, when I go down I will be sure to take a lot with me!

Yep. Say the word. You can even make it go away. :D
