Here is a thread from prarie state outdoors and go through the story to the pages of comments from the locals. They are arguing everything from mis managment of the herd to money with deer hunting.

Wow, its like a war on that site don't ya think?. i say that the firearm season was bad for me yes, but i did get me a doe the first season. that's just about all i saw the whole season. but you don't see me crying like they are on there lol

Interesting, seems folks all over are upset with the way things are going and a lot of people are unhappy with their state's DNR.

That's what happens when you let the Government manage anything, they screw it up.

I'm not big fan of our government here in IL, and the DNR has some issues for sure. I'm against increasing fees next year and other things they do as well. However, most of the guys commenting on that site are too extreme and often nasty for me. It's like that all the time so I stopped reading their comments some months ago.

yep. for sure. usually, the game & fish is a good example of goverment running things, but not always.

The hunters in Illinois have been in debate ever since the deer herd was reintroduced and managed to huntable numbers. Everyone has there own opinion, but there are way to many who come off as experts on what should be done that is best for the herd. It all reads like me, me, me, mine, mine, mine, my way or no way. I often wonder how many get involved in the process to get things changed compared to how many just writing comments on a website.
