Formal Complaint

Finally, after 5 months of living here I have my first formal complaint here at the apartment. Apparently the new guy that just moved in beside me today absolutely hates the sound of ducks and geese. Mainly geese he says. He knocked on the door and asked if I was beating someone. I gave him a very odd look and asked, "what's it to you?" He said because I believe this is a nice and quite complex and I am hearing some odd noises. I bust out my goose call and lay into it. After I get done calling I asked him if that was the noise he was hearing. He responds yes and I say, "nope, not beating anyone." He then ask, if there was anyway I could do this outside. I respond, sure. 10 minutes later I go outside and let loose. I then get a phone call saying the new guy complained about my calling. I asked the lady on the phone if he gave her any pointers on how I could make it better. She laughed and said nope. Then we talked about quite hours, which are from 7 am to 9pm. It's 2:15 in the afternoon, I am good. She agrees. I am holding strong and not calling but i have never had a complaint so far. The neighbors love me. They know I hunt and watch over the building when they are not there. They do not complain and they actually enjoy listening to some of the calling. The kids love it. Anyhow, hopefully this guy relaxes some. Also, hopefully by Feb. I will be signing on a house. I can not wait!!!!

I might just have to bust out the Elk bugle this afternoon.

sorry guy. I have lived in apartments while I was in college. Now I love to blow my goose call and duck call with the best of them but if I knew it was bothering another tenant then I wouldn't do it in the apartment.

PS--I have had my wife throw stuff at me while practicing at home. Those calls are very loud in enclosed areas.

I haven't blown anything since I got the complaint, guy.

All is quite on the western front for now.

But then again, I am in my right to do as I please. I do respect people and that is why I havent blown it since.

This is just the first complaint I have had about it. It's not like I have had complaint after complaint and continue to do it.

That's dang funny no matter who you are. Maybe throw in a Sasquatch call every now and then too :)

Just kidding of course, but it's fun to talk..eh

I'm sure you'll be a gentleman and keep it down from now on. That's one of the things I never liked about apartment living. I never liked listening to someone else's taste in music, blaring away all the time, as I'm sure no-one would like to listen to mine blaring away. Respecting your neighbors is important, even if you don't always agree with their choice of complaints.

My wife doesn't like listening to me calling in the house either, even though I just can't help myself sometimes ..LOL:)

He might own a gun Ben, so be careful...eh :)

Hey I thought the complaints telephone number was 1-800-328-7448 (you gots'ta spell it out to appreciate it!)

I got a neighbor with 3 pomeranians that near drive my wife nuts when they're in the back yard yippin' nonstop. She'd likely pay you to do your goose callin' in my backyard......long as you brought your goose huntin' shotgun with you and wiped out those yippin' and yappin' hair balls! The neighbor refers to them as pure breds. I like to think of them as bear bait!
