RyanH
I have also thought about tryin them out! I hear they are awesome! They have a 4 inch cutting diameter! Its unreal! I dont think a turkey will go anywhere after being shot with one! Only thing is! They are like $40 for 3 of them! LOL That sucks!

VTbowman
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads I looked at them close last year and saw on the packaging that they recommend 5.5" full helical vanes and about a 500 grain arrow. Way more stick then I am throwing. Plus they are designed for neck/head shots so body shots may not do the trick. I am sure you could get away with less arrow but not much IMO. Try em and give us the report back! Good Luck!

Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads I used them last year. I missed a gobbler at about 30 yards. I missed mainly because of high cross winds. The heads fly great in normal conditions, but if it is very windy, they plane pretty bad. I have all the confidence in the world with these heads, though I've never actually killed a bird with one. I did shoot a woodchuck and two rabbits with them though. Pretty devistating. One of the rabbits was completely decapitated. The woodchuck was rather impressive. I hit him square in the shoulder. It cut clear through the shoulder, deeply into the neck and clear to the spine in the back region. He did not go but maybe 6" after the shot. Easy tracking job. I'm undecided if I'm going to use them this year. They are a good head though. If you want proof, check out Double Bull's new video. Several heads get cut clean off with these things. VtBowhunter
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads They are not intended for shots past 20 yards. They're designed to pretty much bounce off on a body shot so the bird will survive, but I have a hard time buying that part. Wouldn't you think that if you hit the bone where the wing and body meet that the wing would be severed? We tested them up at the shop. We suspended carrots from a string and took shots from 10, 20, and 30 yards. It was pretty cool. Cut the carrots clean off, and I mean clean, at 10 and 20, but at 30 the arrows started flying funny.......but still got a couple carrots from that distance. After getting one bird down with my Spitfire heads, I'll be trying them.
Chrud
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads I don't think I'd trust them past 20 yards either.
maddhunter
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads I think I will pick some up this weekend at Bass Pro and try them. May even get some heavier arrows to try with them and see if it makes a difference. Seems to me that a head shot wouldn't be any more difficult than a body shot do to the small kill zone on a gobbler. I know some guys that shot plum through a gobbler and never found them. The more wind though, the shorter a shot I'd take. I shot some in the back yard at 30 yards last year. They fly good. You've got to put 5" feathers on your arrows though and a lot of helical. I did not use full length arrows either. I cut three arrows just long enough so that the broadhead sits infront of the riser. Also, in regards to a body shot on a turkey. I don't know. A turkey is a lot different than the woodchuck and rabbits I've killed with mine. All those feathers would likely stop the arrow short of a quick kill. I'm betting that shooting a bird in the wing butt area would break the wing and slice into the body. I think eventually the bird would die, but as long as he's got his legs and his head, he's going to run and run. Probably won't find him. VtBowhunter
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads Headhunter, I noticed that there are arrows on the market now specifically for the purpose of being used with the G.G. heads........what can you tell us about them? LifeNRA
Re: Gobbler Guillotine Broadheads I was just at Cabela's today. They had a video showing these broadheads! MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!! They do what they are supposed to do!!! I was like, WOW!!!! It snapped the neck, in some cases it took it off! But you better darn good to just aim at the neck! Also, they had special arrows there made for these broadheads!
