Tragic news

Although my birthday was a celebration of my birth(and my sister's), there are some sad memories to it. A year ago yesterday a student from my college who played varisty basketball was killed in a car accident. What I just found out though in chapel, a 10 year old child drowned last night in the college's pool. They pulled him out around 5pm and took him to the hospital where he died. I'm not sure ofthe cause but some girls I heard talking said something about he had heart problems and had a cardiac arrest in or under the water. Please pray for the family. These things really give meaning to "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" and shows just how precious life truly is.

Re: Tragic news

I have a heart condition/problems as well, and it's hard for me to stay under the water for so long. I have a scar down my chest and around my back. It looks like I've been cut like a loaf of bread.

My meds are expensive and so have been my 5 surgeries I've went to.

A prayer is being sent right now from Southern Indiana.

Re: Tragic news

Wow PSE...what I am wondering is if they knew this kid had problems, they shouldn't let him in the pool. Oh well...God has a purpose for everything and something He just lets happens. I know though that the pool is closed and is under investigation by the police and health department and what not

Re: Tragic news

Yeah it's scary to have a heart problem. I know everytime I go to bed, it might be my last night being alive. When I play sports like I did in Highschool, I knew I had limitations, but did go over those limits too many times. When I really get winded, you can see the impact of my heart pounding against my shirt 10 yards away. It's pretty scary and not fair. I played basketball and only could be on the floor for about 6-10 minutes. I always was mad and upset at God for making me like this. But now, I know I'm suppose to be a light in other kids eyes and hearts, that they don't always have to sit on the side.
