joeaveragehunter
For ten years, I have been nay saying and passing judgement. I never showed emotion and didn't care about a single game (except against the packers). I wasn't a fan of the coaches or the players...flashback 1998 gary anderson 100% on field goals for the season, watches the snap...good hold...the kick is up....NOOOOOOOO! I don't know how, but the Vikings have captured my heart again... dang you brett. If only for rubbing it in my relatives faces (cheeseheads), I feel compelled to start the super bowl or bust wagon... so hop on or get outa the way. We're comin... We're comin... We're comin
Tominator
I can't seem to pick an NFL winner. Grew up 20 minutes from Municipal Stadium but the Browns sucked back then too. So I started following the Vikes back in the day of the Purple People Eaters, Eller, Page, Marshall, Grant, Foreman, Krause, Tarkenton, etc. They broke my heart 4 times in the super bowl so I went back to the Browns because I know they'll never break my heart. Heck, they've never been to the bowl so I don't get too disappointed anymore.
muggs
Honestly, they have the perfect playoff NFL team. Great running game, they stop the run better than anyone, and they can D up as good as anyone. Add to that the season Favre is having, they can play with anyone. But, dude, never put any faith in Brett Favre. That guy is going to throw a terrible interception that costs them. You watch. That Ole Wranglin' wearin' gun slinger with the ole vice grip buys into his own hype way too much.

That Ole Wranglin' wearin' gun slinger with the ole vice grip buys into his own hype way too much. BOOM! Muggsy bringin' the thunder! I agree with Muggs, Favre will end up costing the team. Back in '07 he was having one of his best seasons. They get the NFC Championship at Lambeau and Favre throws an INT that costs them the game. The best thing Minnesota has going for them is that they won't be playing outside at all. I don't think Minnesota will be able to hang with New Orleans. Heck, I'd put Minnesota as #3 in the NFC behind NO and Philly. Something no one is really talking about...who has Minnesota beat besides Green Bay? And they got GB twice when the team was still pretty bad (I would put GB as #4 or #5 in the NFC). Cincinnati and that is about it. The only other "contender" they've played is Arizona and they got throttled by the Cards. With the schedule Minnesota has, along when the weather conditions they've played in, they should be 11-2. Brett has already accomplished what he wanted to (I really hope Vikings fans don't think Favre came to MN because he wanted to help that team). Vikings fans can be very happy they won't have to play in Philly, New York or Green Bay in the playoffs.:hammer1:
hoosierhunter
BITTER BITTER CHEESEHEADS!!!!! Minnesota is without question the best team in the NFC. NO has a great O but have you watched their last 4 games....They won't go 16-0 and I predict they don't make the NFC championship game either........ Again, Minnesota has only defeated 3 teams win winning records (at this point) this season. One of those teams is 7-6 right now. Two of those were against GB, who were 2-1 and 4-2 and giving up 5+ sacks a game at those times. It'll be interesting what happens when they play some tougher competition, like Arizona. (Im not bothered by the Favre 'scandal' lol).I agree that they wont go 16-0, for one, I just dont think they will LOL, and 2 they would be foolish to play starters in the last game if it means nothing playoff wise. As far as the Vikes go, they are playing dang good ball. Im pretty sure the Pack isnt going to go to the big dance, so once they are out I would like to see #4 with another ring. buckbuster11
The Vikings seem to forget at times that they have the best player in football at running back. It looks like to me they get a little to much in love with throwing it around with Bretty boy. Favre will blow it in the playoffs if that keeps up. It looks like to me they get a little to much in love with throwing it around with Bretty boy. Favre will blow it in the playoffs if that keeps up. Yup, they've completely sold out who they are to keep Brett happy. What sort of sells me though, is the fact they were a playoff team without Favre, and Favre is having a great season. But the Vikings are a team that only keeds a game manager, like what Trent Dilfer was to the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. A guy who doesn't turn the ball over, and hands it off to AP 25+ times a game and can still make enough throws to keep the other team honest. Then let that dominate D do the rest... What they don't need is a gun slinger who throws it 50x per game, and forces the ball into double coverage. There are teams that may need to do that, like the Saints, but the Vikings aren't one of them. And it could very well cost them.

Plus the whole D sucked, not to mention a game winning FG was missed. I get sick of people blaming #4 for that loss,it should never have come down to that. But Harris screwed the whole team, plus a head coach that has no idea how to make in game adjustments.

muggs
Seriously, what's wrong with Packers fans? You guys really don't know what you're looking at. Are you really going to sit there and dog Al Harris? The guy has been one of the better corners in the league for several years now. On top of that, Ted Thompson, the guy you all love to hate becaue he finally put Favre's ego in check, also sigend Charles Woodson when people thought he was washed up. Woodson and Harris make up one of the best 1,2 corner combos in the entire league. All thanks to Thompson. Let's add some more good Thompson moves to the list: Drafting Aaron Rodgers, drafting Clay Matthews Jr., finding Ryan Grant, hiring McCarthy.... The guy is a solid GM. camoman1
Harris did not play well in the NFC Champ game the Pack lost. I think thats all RUTTNSTRUT is saying. Funny its ok to blame Brett, statistcally one of the better QB's in the league, for losing the game because of a bad throw. But heaven forbid anybody say that another player played poorly and that contributed to the loss. And I do agree that Harris and Woodson are some of the top CB in the league, but everyone has a bad game. And to keep this thread on track....I will say the Vikes better shape up...All of them, if they want to make it past the first round in the playoffs. Im sure Brett will get most of the blame, but nobody played well, and there was some poor coaching in the last two Vikes games. Go Pack!!:D

camoman1
The Vikings have an indenity crisis...they don't need a gunslinger, they need a game manager. It will cost them. I agree 110%. Thats what they had in Favre for the majority of the season. If they cant get the run game going, they are going to have to rely on Brett trying to pull rabbits out of a hat....which he can do, but its also easy to get burned that way. But its hard to manage a game when they are playing catch up the whole time. That D needs to stiffen up and use the talent they have. But heaven forbid anybody say that another player played poorly and that contributed to the loss. The game was in OT. The team played well enough to keep the game tied and give them a chance to win in OT. It wasn't until OT when FAVRE threw an INT that gave New York great field position and setup the game-winning field goal. It was the first posession of OT and only the first or second play of OT. Because of Favre's INT, NY took over already in field goal range and didn't give GB a chance to win. And Muggs is right (again). After last night, we finally found out who the real coach of Minnesota is... "Chilly...pick me up at the airport." "Chilly...go get me some Taco Bell." "Chilly...I'm staying in the game and I'm 'irked' at you." Minnesota, meet Brett Favre's ego. Funny how Vikings fans all saw it when he was with Green Bay, but now the same scenarios are playing out and Vikings fans don't even realize it. I just hope I didn't seem so out-of-touch when Favre was my QB.

Stick a fork in them, they are done!!!! He's baaaack! I'm surprised it took this long, but the old Brett and his ego have arrived in Minnesota. Since "Chilly" is actually trying to do his job, coach the team and keep that QB under control, I wonder if 'ol Brett will get upset and go to Detroit to stick it to Minnesota? It is amazing how Favre's personality does a complete 180 when the coach/team/organization doesn't bend over backwards and do 'ol Brett says. Heck, that is why he got so bent out of shape and made his own soap opera in Green Bay. Drama Queen.

Chrud
Where are all the Favre nay sayers now? He looked pretty good against a team that called it a season three weeks ago. Minnesota will still about out in the 2nd or 3rd round. If, and it is a big if, they make it to the Super Bowl, they will get dominated.
